pro: its faster
con: u miss more often, too, oarticularly stuff like DS' vacuum, cz u dont see AoE b4 casting anymore
totally worth it, imo, but its hard to get used at first, and its still better not to use it on certain heroes.
^this was my biggest problem, i tried few games and i was missing some stuff, but i guess i i will get used to it.
What heroes do you think its questionable to use on?
Blink Dagger & other items on inventory Quick-Cast. Range-finding Abilities on Normal Cast.
yes its almost always better
stuff like sleight lsa split earth might be slightly worse but after awhile u shud know the aoe by feel anw.
u can enable normal cast with Alt too if u want
Pros: it's faster
Cons: you can't use "doble-press to cast on self" or whatever this setting name is
I find it really good for abilities that can be cast on ground (Eg. Jakiro's abilities, Lina's dragon slave, DK'a nuke, Drow's silence, etc)
you bind it normally except you press alt and then the key
i use it for aoe shit like embers sleight yea or broods web/void chrono etc
i use it for items too but it kind of sucks for force staff, but u get used to it i guess
i actually dont want to use it with items, but i saw you can choose what slots to be on quickcast and what to be on cast but i cant seem to find how to do it
@Allison
bind it on quickcast panel or cast panel?
If i bind on quickcast I have to press alt+the key for the spell to work, and it works just like binding without Alt.
If i bind on cast panel same shit just as normal cast.
Can anyone post a screenshot on how should it look like?
I found if you have your mouse over your heroes portrait when you cast a spell, it self casts. Much easier to move the mouse to the hero portrait in a teamfight instead of trying to find your hero in the middle of that mess. Especially if its a spell that affects allied and enemy units such as Astral imprisonment. ( I once died because i accidentally astral'd the an enemy next to me instead of myself. If I'd astral'd myself it would have been an easy blink away)
Also is there any way to set unique key-setups for each hero? For example I never want to have Brood's spin web on quick cast but for most other heroes I'd like to have that key on quick cast. I know i can change it at the start of the game but its annoying and sometimes i forget and end up putting down a web in my fountain or something stupid because i forgot to change it.
Yes
On Quickcast just bind like normally, let say QWEDFR
and on Cast press Alt+Key so Alt+Q, alt+W etc.
So when you want to use web without quickcast you press Alt+W
I have ALT+Key to toggle autocast at the moment but i guess it would be more valuable for normal cast. It would be nice if you could set up fully unique bindings for each hero though.
Quickcast is too odd imo, no Aoe indicator and self cast is hard.
Neccessity on meepo tho
i dont like qc on heroes like invoekr which demand accuracy
however qc on ember ult is a must
If you are a tinker player, it is INVALUABLE. Basically all you have to do is press certain keys in a row over someone over and over again and they are dead.
@kappastorm, quickcast isn't odd at all once you try it a couple times. It is odd for the first time no doubt. I play quickcast on every hero and I don't think I can ever go back to normal cast lol. The problem is , it might be really odd for heroes like ember/void/dark seer if you aren't used to their aoe range.
I can imagine myself playing enigma, forgetting I have qc on, pressing R and getting reported
I have two quickcast slots for items and 4 non quick cast slots, abilities are all normal except for ult because I play a lot of lc, and it can be a difference between getting a duel or not, it's very easy to blink-duel if you don't even have to click, lowers the reaction tolerance a lot.
