Which Rax to try? in General Discussion

    Early-mid game won map control
    Enemy turtles real hard
Now I get to choose three high grounds
Which is the most preferable to take?

Bot or top, for which side?

I always try mid and realized it's dumb after giving it some thoughts.

safelane 3rd tower to control their jungle, especially the ancient camp. if i played support i put ward on their jungle to slow down their farming.

Whichever lane is pushed in. The key though is do not force the rax. Either Rosh, pick off, or have your team farm up their next big item. Once you guys all hit power spikes with your next big item you will be ready SPLIT PUSH chances are while you are all getting 1 more big item you guys get a pickoff at which point you siege regardless.

It very rarely matters. People generally prefer mid because creeps have to cover less distance to get to the enemy base, forcing the enemy team to react more often. Besides that, you should focus on the lane that you lost a T3 tower in because it will give the enemy team a harder time forcing the issue.

I started questioning this because there was this lobby game that went on for 80 minutes, we took four or five rounds of rosh to siege mid but always fail. In the end, we lost one fight and late game cores just melted the ancient. I believe it was utter defeat, to take so many rounds of cheese and refresher but still fail.
Note: We were 3.5k avg team against two Divine 5 cores

I was thinking sieging mid means:
              1. I will have no high ground to retreat to
              2. Enemy team can easily defend bot and top towers if pushed in
              3. They will also have lots of positioning space too

And like you said, mid waves are faster. So if I siege the top lane, the supports or carries will be distracted for a while to clear the waves at mid and bot(which is a lot further), this might create an opening.

Depends on your (and the enemy) heroes.
Middle is usually the first to fall since it's the fastest to push and close to all other lanes and objectives (you just took Rosh, you won fight anywhere in the jungle - mid is most often the closest).
As stated, taking their safelane will provide you with more space towards their main jungle, meaning you can interrupt their farming easier and further your lead.

In terms of positioning, check the lineups. Sticking to one side (top or bot) can provide you with an advantage, but beware - heroes like Sand King, Magnus, Enigma, love to blink into the trees on the side and surprise you from there, which is a bit harder to do on mid.

The main thing about mid is probably that the defending team can smoke and go around you from any side, so it's very hard to position yourself properly, while when you take one of the sides, you can put whoever you want in their way.
