I used to be an alpha mid player until i started to get matched with high 5ks and 6ks.
in 5k you are playing with other 5k in 4k you are playing with teammates 3k other team 5k smurfs.
Lol i dont know what you guys are talking about, but I can climb in 4k faster than in 5k since smurfs are stuck in that place or some what last longer in there. So smurfs are bound to go up higher and in 5k is where they all meet each other. I would probably be amazed if there wont be a smurf in 1 out of 3 or 2 games. But I'm not neccessary sad about that cuz having them around means I can practice my skills better, its just that I'll probably be stuck here for a while and if I can't climb up then I don't deserve to rank up because that would means and proves that I belong in this bracket

in one of my yesterday's games, my divine 6 lion's entire impact was single pulling twice so enemy night stalker got like 4 waves of free creeps under tower
i won the lane but we still lost because noone had a slightest clue when to fight and not fight regardless of repeated calls

When I first got 3k I felt 2k games were so much harder. I went from 3 to 4k in 4 months. Though it took me yrs to clear 2k . But now I'm stuck in 4k for 6 months plus. What's with the even brackets , they are pretty toxic.
First time I got to 4k few years ago it felt way easier than now. Probably because people played worse.
Last season I peaked at @ 4.7k and I can safely say that after 4.5k people start to play better than me. I easily get carried and get put into divine 1/2/3 games back then.
I would go Meepo mid, die few times to enemy SF, but my Monkey King would make enough space so I can farm up and comeback..
With that being said, season 3 started rough, dropped from 4.2 to 3.6k because I lost all calibration games. So far managed to gain just 450 MMR, and for some reason, mid to high 3k and low 4k seems to be super hard for me. Way harder than mid to high 4k.
Here you have to carry harder and play better imo, and for sure if you are not a 4k player you will drop down to 3k easily.
The reason why it looks so easy when a legit 6k guy comes to play in 3k and low 4k is because the gap between 3k/4k and 6k is just so fucking big, way bigger than 3k/4k
i also find this season to be significantly harder in terms of matches. even 3.2k mmr feels like somewhat of a challenge, before it was the same all of normal skill, or i felt that way at least.
Lel i was also suprised. Cuz i quitted dota 2 and came back and i dont know how my skill improved though
u can't judge that by 1 game. play 100 games and u will surely get more winrate in 4k than 5k. there might be some cancerous games in 4k but overall it's easier. in 5k even if u lose u had a good game and u feel very good because ur team is good they support u they don't blame and etc. but in 4k sometimes u get very toxic games. everyone blames each other. everyone wants to play carry and etc. but overall 4k games are surely easier than 5k games. getting some cancerous games or some lose streak doesn't mean 5k is easier than 4k.
As a retard who loves to grind accs to 5k, i can safely say that 4k games are much easier since every game there is 1v9 while in 5k, u need to coordinate with team a lot in order to win.

In 4k if your lane is a bad matchup it’s mega gg. Now in 5k I can just cry in chat and my alpha male Lina player (mid) will rotate, kill both of the fuckers who dived me, and TP back to lane immediately without farming my lane or losing mid tower.
In 4k you can get those “I’ve burned all 6 of my tangoes in 3 minutes against this Clinkz” lanes and it’s mega gg. In 5k your supports probably completed Trauma Center DS in Hard mode and will salve you, clarity you, etc.
