Prioritise the item that helps you farm the fastest on a carry, in the case of shadow blade this would be the blitz knuckles that provide attack speed, with radiance its the relic and not the pointless recipe which is a waste of 1350 good by itself since it gives you NOTHING. You always want to build up your hero by adding items which snowball your progression to your next item and provide stats that your hero requires at that stage in the game. Take for instance Slark who often builds Silver Edge, a costly item which does not necessarily give the hero the stats he needs super early on. The idea is usually to build echo sabre immediately after your early stats and treads because you desperately need the mana regen and the stats the sabre provides, then its pretty common to buy a diffusal blade and the blitz knuckles in either order for the attack speed, farm and early fight potential these items provide since Slark is an early game brawler and only then do you buy the shadow amulet and other components to form a silver edge.

As always you appear illiterate and incapable of understanding what I write, either because you lack language skills or you are braindead (hence the projection). And no, nothing is obvious, that is made clear by this guy legitimately wondering if he should buy a recipe first, in the past few days I have encountered 3k players who think aegis can be transferred and who dont understand what a pull is. The level of ineptitude in this game is staggering and even the most basic knowledge is lost on some people.

Every single build is situational... The game is situational... I have 2.7k mmr, its safe to presume the uncalibrated people in these turbo games have similar mmr, they range from high crusader to low legend in general. Either way the fact you cant transfer an aegis should be basic knowledge even to a new player, so the fact that this 2k+ player with 1000 matches did not know this information is testimony to the fact that some people lack even fundamental understandings of this game. if ur buying aghs, buy whichever component is most useful to you, if ur agi hero, lets say jugg, and u want to buy aghs, then buy blade of alacrity first, if ur a hero that wants hp, or hp/mana, buy the ogre club or the point booster. just use ur brain and buy what u think u need. if ur buying heart why would u buy any other part but the reaver first? same thing with radiance, it doesnt make sense to buy the recipe first when it does literally nothing, just save for the relic. its hard to describe things like this with a general statement cuz its so situational, but just buy the component u think u need. this feels like a dumb answer but whatveer
Dude what do you mean recipe first. Those few times I queued different items and bought the one for the 2nd item and not the one for the item I was building, or just bought recipe first by mistake, I wanted to kill myself. I'd say get the most expensive piece first. While it is true that this will starve you for a while before you get it, it also allows you to save for bb in case a dogshit fight happens and you have to or even if your plan changes, according to how the game goes while you're building it. Regarding tarrasque, I see many people go for the ring super early and then close the item much later in the game but I really don't like that, basically all of them build either vanguard or hood much earlier and to me getting the other ring first (rip names) makes much more sense. I use this as general rule and keep a lot of options open during games as you need to adapt imo. For aghs I always go for the pink ball first and then usually ogre since afaik it gives hp unless I'm tripping. If you have 2 items queued that you know you need for sure then go for the piece they have in common and see which one you need first. I.e. Shivas and octarine. For BF i think it's pretty obvious that hp/mana regen come first while laning and for sb I never get, let alone show, naked amulet as the enemy might prepare a million dusts and sentries before I even get the full item.
