If I were you get a new one because resetting a laptop may not help you,besides,dota is always getting a new patch and needs a bigger RAM to run smoothly

I'm having a shitty i5 from 6 years ago and the game runs smooth at ~90fps. Try reinstaling dota, then your PC. You may have alot of unwanted files and shit
Thanks for the tip Cobrex, after reinstalling my pc (windows) , my fps is now 90-ish. Didnt expect such a crazy boost tbh
So far the fps is just when I am spectating games , havent really got time to try a game or two. Will update again
Maybe you had Intel HD active.
Or there was some changes to configurations of your nvidia graphics..
First try to use dx11, ifyou dont have a gpu, turn down shadows, and light effects.
You dont need more ram for dota 2, the game needs about 1.3gb of ram to run at full settings, and maybe some 2gb of vram, so at max you need 3, to work in integrated graphics.
first on that confing dota should work just fine ... u need to re-inst windows and then u go to some service and change paste on ur cpu ... overheating may be the problem on lap top.
dno, game runs at 240locked for me and has around 180 - 240 for afeect.
Ur specs should be enough to run dota no problem. I supspect this is either caused by drivers, powerstates or temps.
I think I clearly said 200 - 400 with drops to ~160 - 170 in super chaotic teamfights
first 300 fps and 60 or 70 fps is same u cant see difference .... if ur monitor works on 60 hz 60 fps is all that u need ...
well shit it turns out I have my quality setting at low with 80 max fps in my new laptop , changed it to high with max 120 fps ad it feels like a totally different game lol

Hello , I would like advice regarding fps
My laptop has been with me for 3 years already . It is an ASUS G56jk model. , i7-4 8GB 1TB HDD with Nvidia graphics card 850m.
When i first brought it , Dota2 could run very smoothly but nowadays I'm getting 20-ish fps.
There is an application ' CPUCORES' on steam and when I used it , I was able to get 60fps. Without it, my fps would be around 30.
Recently, even with the CPUCORES , my fps still lingers around 20-ish. May I ask the reason for this drop in fps suddenly?
Would resetting my laptop help ? Or isit simply a case of the laptop being too old. Thanks for any advice in advance
