That's what I thought, makes me wonder what the hell the point of it is then.
Feels like a waste of time, especially since I would have gained 200+ mmr if they just gave me my rank straight away

Before the new system I had a mmr of about 2.2k for both party and solo. I didn't like ranked much so I didn't bother calibrating again until a few days ago.
With a friend I decided I wanted to tryhard carry to win all my remaining party calibration games (we lost 1 because we were messing around). Picked carries, got high gpm (at least 750 for almost all) and kda most games. For some reason we kept playing agaisnt crusaders and archons no matter how well we played.
In the end I calibrated at crusader 4 which was a worse rank than most the players I beat (I even carried some legends in my games). This made me think, has anyone else found that the calibration games had nearly no impact on their mmr?
tldr, won 9 games pretty easily in calibration but got exactly same rank as before
