Map awareness, buy wards as supp every 6 minutes, call missing heroes, check enemy's inventories when you can to know what they're going for or how much regen they have or what rune they found (inform your team about it if you feel it's necessesary), participate in team fights (if you see 3-5 people pushing a lane you should ping to defend and tp), participate in counter-ganks (again, comes down to map awareness, if you see your middle player getting tower-dived by the enemy tp in there and turn the situation around, usually 1 stun is enough as the tower deals enough damage early in the game to kill somebody diving), protect rune spots at spawn times to help out middle player, learn to juke, stack camps if you're playing a supp, try to ks every kill if you're playing carry but don't detriment your own team in doing so (like void chronosphere), check guides for general builds and start making your own decisions about items in certain situations (countering warlock with a diffusal even though your hero is not the best for diffusal), watch replays of proes, they're entertaining to watch and you can learn stuff.
Realize you are making mistakes. No matter how well you did, watch your replay and identify mistakes. It could be as simple as 'I could have stacked this camp for the Alchemist but I stood around and didn't do anything.' or 'I could have called out the game time when Rosh died.' etc
Focus on improving your own play. Even if you have the feediest feeder on your team, if anything change the way you are playing to make them better because that makes the team better and makes it more likely to be a win.
shitty players play at shitty MM become less of a shitty player and your MM will be less shitty
keep this in mind untill you reach at least mid of very high ; "I can`t count on others" then change your game strategy
what do abandons do with mmr? when I first started playing I was getting dropped out of games and crashing but I didn't care for low-prior and I have had 36 abandons for a very long time now. It surely has influenced my win%.
Whatch front pager player perspectives, from that take what you notice they do and incorporate that into your playstyle. Practice doing cs challenges (afk farm for 10 mins in a custom game) every week and improve on trying to end games early before the 30 min mark is ideal to raise your mmr (the longer your game goes the mmr system assumes you're playing a pretty even game) but winning is the best way to raise it obviously
There's many ways. One get better players to carry you to higher bracker. Or 2, get into a 5 stack. 3, play on EU where there are less throwers, trolls and scrubs. 4, exploit OP heroes. Many solo que player play like 50-100 troll warlord game to get to higher bracker. Drow also works.
