PS If you still didn't got it. I NEVER said that Manta is a bad item. I said it could be bad if you buy it for offensive purposes.
I think drums + roa can be compared. You can get those much earlier, have the stats manta provides and save a ton of gold. I was trying to quantify the cost of the illusions, it's basically 2k gold to get those illusions and I don't feel it's worth it. Because I see a lot of players building it and I say hey, you're a ranged hero with nothing that helps illusions, and they say yeah but it has good stats. They don't seem to realize the cost of manta for those stats is a lot. Only worthwhile for the illusions.

I didn't say they were a good alternative, I said they were for different stages of the game and cannot be compared.

Manta and linken are the 2 most overrated and overused pricy items its good that people finally question item builds and start thinking for them selfs
