Meaning he tends to buy it more when the situation allows it as opposed to forcefully getting it whenever.
You are technically supporting his argument by bringing up his WR.
I build it when it's actually a good idea to build, and I utilize it properly, I don't just say "midas is amazing and you can go fuck yourself"
it's a public forum. i can say what I want. If you would like my reasoning, I could provide some strong points. On the other hand, item WR is a flawed statistic. That item did not have full contribution to the match winning. Also, this stat is based on your inventory when the game is over. It a true effective situation, you are selling your midas and 6 sloting your hero so this adds to this flawed stat as well. If I end a game with midas, It was because I bought it in a game I lost in less than 30 minutes and should have probably not done that.
That logic is actually even more flawed because you also win matches with midas in your inventory. It's not like every match you have midas in your inventory you lost. Infact, looking at your match history, I went all the way to your 50-60 minute long matches and still a VERY small portion of your matches are you legitimately six-slotted and even sadder is that you rarely even have a Midas in those games. My previous argument is extremely valid.

item stats aren't that reliable imo since it depends on "when the game ends"
for instance, your tangos, healing salves, branches and whatnot undeniably helped you early game
if you have them in your inventory whenever there's a loss, it'll properly display you losing with "X" item.
however, given items like midas, you probably sold a large chunk of them, disposed of it throughout the game, and i'm pretty sure they don't get lumped into the "win" stats if you don't have the item in your inventory at the end of the game.
i.e. i have 100% with 4 vitality boosters, which means in the 4 games that i had bought vitality boosters, i had ended the game without making *it into another item
this makes item stats very skewed and unreliable imo, unless you're comparing the same hero item stats/builds on a consistent average
Coz if you get midas. For sure you will receive the extra gold. But it's not sure that you will kill the other team.! You receive AS, extra exp and extra gold. Then if you have a good farm and you are not trying to rush the game. Midas it's a good item and you can see how in competitive scene they get midas too. You know when PRO start doing something then a lot of people in public games start doing the same.

Actually, your winrate with Midas _should_ be bad. Because at the end of a game where Midas was useful it should be sold thus not being recorded by Dotabuff as an item used in the game.
Also, fuck Midas.
Out of all items, this one is used the worst by all pub players. Every fucking time when you have 3/4 carries, at least 2 of them gets midas. And the reasoning is "dude we have to share farm so i need midas" The fuck dude? That's not how things work. You need to survive the early game, and you will win late game anyways. Why the fuck do you waste your money on an item that won't do shit for you? Get a fucking drums instead.

How about you get that 4 mins Phase + RoA as Jugger and stomp the lane? Those kills give you more exp and gold than dying with a raw midas.
