i had this one guy buy like 3 clarities, definitely warded aggressively in lane and just sat there zoning me w/ atks and poison touch over and over

Depends on level and how much stun/damage you need.

CM, Disruptor, WD, Andro, WK, Lion are good ganking supports which either lend a good amount of damage or disable with a couple of levels.

Earth Shaker, because well-placed fissure leaves victim no chance to escape.

I would argue against AA, KOTL, Silencer, and even Lina and Leshrac to a degree. Those heroes require either really bad positioning by the other team or a setup by someone existing in the lane which kind of defeats the point of a roaming support. Even SD/Bane only sets up positioning and doesn't set up a hard disable.

Heroes with a lock down and quick kill abilities as you don't want to be under tower for long if it comes to that. Heroes like Rhasta aren't all that good cause the range is not that great on his spells and you will find yourself going deep into tower range to try and lock people out. Lich can be good but needs a second one with him (e.g. Lich/Venge) to make it work well.

......and then there is god damn Mirana.

shadow shaman if you can get off the shackle
