i remember matrice maxing essence shift one time, what was his reasoning for it?

^ was probably in a 1x1 or 2x1 lane vs melee hero
edit: essence shift scales from 15 to 30 seconds at level two, you can get 2 levels sometimes

Maxing Dark Pact is awesome because it makes you a pretty quick jungler once you hit lvl 7...

yeah you can actually land 2 dark pacts on a hero instead of jumping with 50 more damage

^im not approvi that build, but pounce is maxed for cooldown, not for the damage it deals.

sometimes i go 3 2 1 1 on slark but so rarely. you have to max dark pact no matter what.

Any melee offlaner, tide bristle shredder clock etc, you want at least lvl2 in essence shift.

The rule for essence shift on the lane is:
Take w/e is needed to fuck the enemy, but don't be too greedy if they can abandon the lane.

Example:
• Clock 2 points, since he can simply leave the lane at level 6.
• Tide, 4 points, since he cann't leave the lane, or only once per ~3 minutes

the rule for essence shift over pounce and dark pact is to not do it

you wont outlane tidehunter unless you have more creeps and he has none and he tries to kill you for whatever reason

When you have 3 or 4 point in essence shift, tide cann't even come take ANY last hit, unless he wants to die.

With only 1 point of essence shift, only trash tide die to slark

2 points essence shift means you're stuck with lvl 3 pact or pounce on lvl 11 which is the longest lvl ever = garbage

slark wins the lane against tide with lvl 1 essence + stick + minimal support help, not to mention tide usually dies to a 2x pact dive on lvl 6-7 if he approaches the creepwave

go put 4 points into essence vs anyone with a brain he will just leech exp stack ancients and not give a fuck about ur worthless hero

when do you exactly want to max pounce over dark pact in pubs where i cant garantees that my teamates would gank for me sometimes i just max pact and farm jungle asap (4037) NA im a scrub so dont mind me too much
