I couldn't connect to games for a while and managed to fix it but yours could be a completely different problem
He randomed Slark. I think he Disconnected at 0:00 when you can "enter" the game with your hero.
When he reconnected he couldn't spawn his hero.
I don't know if he was at pick screen or watching the map.
