Glimmer is the poor man lothars, love that

the blind and + armor dont have much synergy when applied to enemy units its only really strong when you apply it to your front liner in a deathball lineup otherwise its pretty lacklustre

Solar is op late game!
glimmer is more situational.

glimmer cause can take it apart and make seperate items if needed. Made tranqs the best boots when u could do that early on

It depends on the game, if the other team has a high burst magic damage you shoul go Glimmer, if its most rigth click heros, like drow, slark etc you shoul go Solar Crest. So its not a rule.

Anyway, if you can do both, you win the game :D

dude you're like comparing apples and oranges.. why would you think of asking glimmer cape or solar crest? i would understand if you asked glimmer cape or sb

Apparently you dont understand the concept of both items. Both items are really great to disengage fight and make the hero soak a way higher percentage of damage.

Both of them can prevent heavy damage.
Now think to yourself, as it is a "Vs." topic, and when would you be more likely to pick up Crest, when Cape.
If you cannot follow what I am saying, read the whole thread thoroughly, since I am not the only one describing this very topic :)

I would base this entirely on the hero I'm playing.

If I'm playing CM, obviously I would take glimmer over solar every time.

If I'm playing venge, probably solar crest because it synergizes with her a lot better than glimmer cape.

If the other team has high right click damage and will not naturally get mkb, solar crest is great. Also, if they're strength right clickers, because armor reduction really hurts their EHP because of naturally high base health pool.

If the other team has lots of magic burst damage, glimmer so your carry/initiator can tank all the magic damage he wants.

They're two great items that are both situational. Sometimes you want both on your team, althought I'm not sure what hero would want both glimmer and solar.

I like solar crest better because it can be cast on spell immune enemies/allies.

Id say glimmer is better because it saves lives more often and is easier to purchase. Solar is good if you have a tanky hero and you want to make it tankier or rosh quicker. But if i had the choice between these 2 id go glimmer 99% of the time.

pick omni - cast repel and solar crest on the carry - watch the little guy go out there and be somebody
