Hero also cant survive without mana, however he used to be more susceptible to mana drain before mangos.
lastly, wards and smokes. Sven relies on the element of surprise generally. Unless its late game and he is tanking your team in which case your kinda fucked if you haven't figured it out by then anyway.
Lina+centaur for example can shit on him pretty hard.

Its like troll 6.83 but worse, kite and kill after bkb. Stun through bkb like axe/ww/magnus/enigma.
You need to counter Sven? I haven't played a single Sven I believe in 6.84c and I played him maybe 3 times as an offlaner.

Heroes that slow him and kite him are really good. Viper works really well and if you need to support Veno could also work as both heroes slow and disable blink which sven gets a lot.
sven is super easy to kite as long as he doesn't 1 shot you during stun duration. Just pick a ton of kiters like qop, storm, guys with disables like cm, lion.

vs sven? any kiting ult that goes through immunity. bloodseeker absolutely destroys him. winter wervyn also wrecks him HARD.
if you really have problems against him, pick viper and rush aghs and every time you see sven you press R.
bloodseeker will also just press R.
also best item counter would be glimmer cape ofc, especially in lower mmr, or just kiting with ghost and forcestaffs.
Glimmer cape/blink/shadowblade stun and then nuke him hard. Make him suffer to his own game the most, surprise him.

Yea I hate itemizing sven, you rush blink then you are cc'd whole time, you don't rush blink people just run from you. You rush mask and armlet you farm like crazy but get cc'd and kited. It's nuts, sven needs like 10 slots for armlet, mom, blink, treads, bkb, tp. That's 6 slots on like 12k worth of items, plus an early bassy on him is great, I go six slotted on him so fast and you still have no big hitters in AC/abyssal/daedulus/heart.
Veno destroys him
Medusa destroys him when he and his team aren't farmed enough
Viper as well
Shadow Demon
Bane
Lion with Blink
PL with diffusal, don't man fight him, kite him and whittle away his mana then fight him
Movement Slows, AS slows, Damage Reduction, Mana Drain, Stuns, BKB piercing spells (like BH, solo BH him each time)
If you can't counter him directly, focus on heroes that help him with lockdown. Kill the SS then disengage, kill the Lion then disengage.
He is kind of like a lower single target, higher AoE, faster farming Ursa. Whatever you do to Ursa, you do to him. Just don't clump up together.

He isn't like ursa at all because sven's typically go mask of madness and ursa has new ult that reduces dmg. Ursa is actually somewhat hard to kill, sven if he pops mom without a bkb can be blown up in mere seconds. Even with bkb you can often man fight him, just don't clump up like you said.

Ursa is actually an awful hero. You can purge his ulti with Euls or any purge you'd like. His ulti gets good when he has BKB cause thats when he first can hit in TEAM-FIGHTS that are not INITIATED BY URSA TEAM.

@direwolf have you ever tryed just going mom bkb sny? I know it's not as good for starting fights but mom plus any plus warcry is actually pretty insane ms. Just as long as Sven is the carry and not the fight starter.
I like s&y in general but that doesn't leave much space for other good shit like daedulus, heart, ac.

He's one of the heroes I lose most to and I never know what to really pick against him. He has insane high armour with warcry, great mobility with warcry blink and mom, and always get bkb making magic, most pure damage and even blademail cry. And the biggest problem is probably his high farming speed combined with not falling off a lot late game (most my games are 40min+).
Any help appreciated, thanks.
