if they catch you and you get caught u get a trade ban and your items are not really gone, but u cannot sell or trade them (And obv not play). At least thats how it works in CS

AFAIK scripting is allowed in Dota 2. You won't be banned using script. I personally tried writing an AutoHotkey (AHK) script to combo casting multiple items and skills at the same time (Tinker Soulring EB Dagon Rearm). I did use it for really long and nothing happened.

Autohotkey is ok. It says so on their website.

Things like Ensage though, will get you VAC banned.

A script can be done with console, is that external to the game ?

MAN NO. Script is a hack, written in a programming language.
Its VAC-bannable , so you cant play the game/ trade your items, so basically they have no value whatsoever
