i still write my shit in gedit and i have no idea how i made it through first year
but i agree, programming on paper is cancer and getting minus points for ;'s or whatever sounds pretty retarded even for me
my "learning" in uni boiled down to skimming over the slides we got, then googling things I need to know more about
I never read a single book throughout the years and sometimes I even just straight up send people videos when they ask for more information or explanations, because if they can't understand it from the video, they sure as hell won't understand when I explain it (in more or less the same way).
A teacher @ uni:
"hey guys you gotta learn this math concept for the next exam but not only is it not explained in the literature we told you to use, we are also not going to do it in class"
An Indian youtuber:
"me from india me tell you all also me good person"
I really owe those people a lot because without them I couldn't have passed some exams.
im kinda afraid it wont suffice (or googling will just return a shitton of shit to learn); i won't have time studying each of these "on the go" unless they're really not deep at all, id rather prepare starting from now
if you want to learn shit and finish up exams, learning how to effectively google and learn stuff that way will actually be a really good skill.
Unless you've got amazing professors, you really aren't going to learn much @ uni and that's the sad reality of things. In my case, I have basically no attention span so I couldn't learn even from good teachers.
Even after you're done with studies, being able to find the knowledge you need IN THE DEPTH YOU NEED (super important) will be a great skill!
out of 330 ppl who took the exam the best guy got a b-, and he's the only one. n K. means the amount of ppl that have grade x, starting (in this graph) from 2.3 (b-) in 0.3-0.4 steps (c+ etc. obviously)
I passed linear algebra really easily tho. I just googled a lot of concepts that showed up and learned them well. The course itself isn't that easy but can be managed in one semester.
my OOP teacher was so unhappy about the class' quiz results that he gave us an ultimatum: if the average grade on the next quiz isnt above 50, everyone will get a C. though i fail to see how this is supposed to be bad
real quick my gs can someone tell me if thats allowed
@allison i guess u could buy them online (id assume it would be overpriced), otherwise u can just go to a printshop if u have a pic with decent resolution and do it urself for a couple of euros
^browsers nowadays use a shitload of ram because they want to store a metric fuckton of cache so that you can navigate the internet very quickly since the resources the page would load are already in the RAM, so they just need to be referenced
the downside is that if you're doing anything else with the browser open and navigating around, you're asking for a disaster
this is why I limited chrome to use 1.5gb of memory max since i can easily afford that without slowing down browsing
also it's 2k18 yet browsers still keep chunks of videos in the RAM even after you close streaming sites' tabs
this is one of the reasons why people are using chromium with memory allocation system modified not to do this shit
how do you make browser have a memory cap? i use mozila btw
If you're not a power user, get this https://bitsum.com/
If you are, Process Governor is the part that does this, and it can also be downloaded independently for free from
github, if you know how to compile it and make it work for your windows build.
yup, there's no place in education, to be writing code on paper
it's utterly dumb and accomplishes literally nothing, and it is in no way connected to any real world scenario
i still write my shit in gedit and i have no idea how i made it through first year

any book recommendations for (hidden) markov models?
You don't need a book, just watch a few videos on it then google the specifics.
what about bayesian networks, markov processes (i assume thats part of markov models), kalman filters, dynamic bayesian networks, fuzzy logic

understandable
linear algebra exam results
out of 330 ppl who took the exam the best guy got a b-, and he's the only one. n K. means the amount of ppl that have grade x, starting (in this graph) from 2.3 (b-) in 0.3-0.4 steps (c+ etc. obviously)
76% failed
I passed linear algebra really easily tho. I just googled a lot of concepts that showed up and learned them well. The course itself isn't that easy but can be managed in one semester.
so you worship india
my OOP teacher was so unhappy about the class' quiz results that he gave us an ultimatum: if the average grade on the next quiz isnt above 50, everyone will get a C. though i fail to see how this is supposed to be bad
>everyone fails
>everyone gets C because average grade isn't above 50
^somebody confused mean and median lulz
though I guess in the extreme case that everyone fails, median would be F actually
man u know what i hate about uni? the first 3 weeks are a massive waste of time, the speed is super slow and u repeat/do the most basic shit
and suddenly shit hits the fan, theres not a lot of time left before exams, lectures suddenly have 10x the content & harder content as well
why not just start with a medium speed and keep that up FeelsWeirdMan
1.2 prove the following operations on sets
1.3 argue why the functions are surjective/injective/bijective
1.4 are the following sets finite, countable or uncountable? why?
ty for wasting my time
Yeah it's at that point where you say "oh geez this is super easy better not study this subject, I can quickly catch up"

it's a (now ancient) term to refer to someone with the ability to perform advanced tasks on a personal computer
