ggwp, its these games where I cant stop myself but ask "why the fuck would you pick that hero if you dont know how he works"
probably hero challenge ffs
26 last hit in 36 minute game, I'm not good at last hit either but come on, thats less than 1 for 2 creep waves
What have you done to deserve this? Probably stole his Pokemon cards when you were kids. These are the things you've got to consider when you plan for the future.
I wished he did. I had called for mid, because I've been trying bristle mid. But techies said he wanted to roam and put mines, and enigma wouldn't budge from jungling (which he was bad at, and was a bad idea coz of bloodseeker), so I had to solo off, and slark said he could handle solo top (which he couldn't)
Hmm i'd never build Vanguard on Slark, most people would laugh at me for even saying this... But...
Slark's do tend to start with Stout shield that they usually upgrade into poor man's shield sometimes. (I do)
Then you factor in that Slark has a relatively low early game health pool, then you factor in the health you get from the vitality booster + regen + great damage block that's even greater that the poor man's shield.
Then it starts to not sound so bad for Slark, i'd never build it, or recommend someone build that on him, but i definitely see the kids logic in doing so, seeing as Slark is one of my best heroes. But i repeat (please don't shit talk meQ.Q) I'd never build or recommend a vanguard on him, i just see why the kid might think it's a good item on him. (fuck off)
I get the PMS into stout shield, coz as an agi hero you can get it really early, and it can help with early cs if you're not good with it

(this was the match ID)
but IMO, given our skill level and their lineup, a shadow blade would be more suitable at that point, coz then slark could potentially catchup by picking off OD and silencer, who were both having bad games too.
He got the vanguard at the 20 minute mark, by which time BS was 16/2 , really taking away from the main pros that item gave, since everyone was hitting much harder already
@i hate dota
Yeah, obviously, but more is always better right? Especially when his passive isn't active cause he's in vision. But the main pluses are the extra health, and damage block.
You don't get Vanguard because the regen is wasted. You don't really want to get hit early game often either since you have Shadow dance...
It'd be much more effective to just get an early Point Booster or Sange...
@Yorkey and then you remember that you get your ult at 6 and suddenly every advantage the vanguard offers disappears. It's far too expensive for what it gives you.
Like, hi yorkey

It used to be core on him some years ago, when Shadow Dance was basically making you invisible for like 5.5 seconds and it had a 25 seconds cooldown, so if they got any detection you would've need it early to tank some damage/hp regen

3 solo lanes coz we had a jungler and a techies.
Slark feeds more than humanly possible, and BS goes 6/0/4 in first 12 minutes ggwp.
On a more productive note, when the fuck does slark get first item vanguard?
