I thought it was the tactile feeling. I didn't even notice the rape noise until I started using it w/o headphones which I instictively put on when I turn on the PC.
The click-clack noise makes you sound pro, people watching your stream love it. lmao
Makes you sound like you're a Star Craft 2 APM beast.
You have no fuckign clue how loud it is, people can hear if they are on the same floor in the house when I don't close the door
I'm going to record it xD
to everyone - don't get mx blues if you unless you want to rape ears
you aren't bottoming out on MX blues. You are hearing the click because they are designed to make a noise when the switch activates.
You have to be beating the shit of your keyboard to bottom out all the time on mx blues. Bottoming out on Reds is much more common.
o rings are pretty cheap and installing them is much quicker than learning to not bottom out keys, although when you do bottom them out it does change the feel of the key imo, like its a bit mushy.
depends on the thickness of the o ring though. you can get thick ones that make the bottom out point almost the same as the actuation point, which is the lazy way to not bottom out, or you can get thinner ones which just reduce noise when the key is bottomed out, and you can still learn to not bottom out.
or try different switches.
"You are hearing the click because they are designed to make a noise when the switch activates."
"click-clack"
i dont think anyone is stupid enough to buy a mech kb and not educate themselves on the different switch types.
i type 170-180 words per minute in 6 different languages
get mx red + keyboards with "built in" numpad
no need to thx me
@Wave
I went from 70-80 to stable a ~120 since I've got the keyboard.
Did you practise a lot to get 120 -> 180?
@Andro
I've actually ordered browns and they mixed it up, I didn't plan on getting blues but I got a partial refund because I didn't return it on time.
ive been working on typing with one hand more, cause typing fast with two hands is one thing, but for some reason typing with one hand is much harder, even though your left hand is on the usual keys.
@Yorkey
Have you tried typing with your dick?
You don't have to use your hands at all. It's good for productivity I've heard.
I try to type daily on 10FastFingers. Sometimes I use TypeRacer.

I think you should give 10FF a try
i dont practice at all, first time i did a speed test, i got 170 or something which was 5-6 years ago
I did the 10ff test
I don't know if you guys will hear it the same way I do but it's awfully loud here. I'll probably order some o-rings as Andro suggested...
I'll have to spill vodka on the current one before I consider spending more money on a new kb
all the 'serious' work I do on it is type essays, and occasionally do some excel spreadsheets. Getting a kb with a numpad doesn't have the same benefit as getting a second monitor (which I'd buy over new kb anytime).
Of course get some O-rings for your keyboard. You'll be bottoming out your keys anyhow.
I have a CM storm quickfire pro keyboard with MX browns (Because I do actual things with my computer, other than play games.) And I love the thing. I just wish I didn't have a numpad on it; the numpad makes the keyboard too long to be ergonomic with my mouse.
Blues have a weak spring so it's not unexpected to bottom them out.
Greens or ghetto greens are much harder to bottom out.
Also never get MX reds, Gateron reds are the same thing but cheaper, higher quality, and without the scratchiness.
Likewise, for tactile switches, topre > ergo clears > clears > gateron browns > mx browns.
The point of not having a numpad is to be able to keep the mouse closer as well as having the alphanumeric area more centered. Unless you're doing lots of number entry there's no reason to have one, and even then the best setup is an external numpad on the left.
Man mech keyboards are the best, typing and playing on them resistive keys feels good!

I have mech MX blues and it sounds weird.
If I type with the intention of doing it fast, the keys bottom out and the click-clacks make it sound like I am trying to rape it.

Do I learn to type w/o bottoming keys out?
Do I get o-rings or w/e that rubber shit is called?
