Treads, because of the attack speed helps you farm faster and hit people without relying on the Phantom Strike buff. Also I'm pretty sure that guy (balto avanta) changes his build from time to time, in page 1 his PA games are all Treads+Drums but in page 2 he built Treads+Armlet. If you buy Dominator make sure you use the active often. Good uses are converting the Frost Armor Ogre creep, the Alpha Wolf creep, the Tornado creep (stack neutrals and farm). Another popular build is Vlads+Deso for obv reasons.
Personally I think PA has become dogshit because she's been outshined by most popular carries for over a year, I've been petitioning Icefraud to remake this hero into something less luck reliant.

She isn't a good hero though, a single item simply deletes her from the game, althoug most meta heroes don't buy it. If you have a hard lane, get basi into aquila. If you are having a rather easy time, you could go Treads BF but PA is NOT a late game hero so it's risky to play the farm game. Your best bet is probably Phase Aquila/Drums into BKB/Basher, then the other one. At this point you should be winning or they will start to get MKBs. You should then go for HotD into Satanic/Abbysal, depending on what you need more. In really late you can get AC/Skadi/MKB type of stuff.

She has the weirdest design of all dota heroes. Her skill set totally scream late game, yet she is one of the worst hero in the lategame (among carry) due to his set beeing countered by so many item (the usual set of hex/abyssal/forcestaff/eul/ghost/eb -like all carry- but also linken and bkb -countrary to most carry-, and that's where it's a big problem for her lategame).

And now on top of it, we have glimmer and solarcrest to prevent pa from winning earlier, when she is way stronger than other carry.

"A single" , as in just that item is enough, not only that item.

As far as the Treads vs. Phase Boots argument, it depends on the flow of the game. If your lane is fairly even or you are losing it, going for Treads is usually the safer choice. The extra HP from strength, as well as the versatility provided by tread-switching, can usually help keep you a bit safer when you farm or get ganked. However, if you are dominating the early game and getting a lot of kills, get Phase Boots. The damage is useful, but it's mostly the speed boost that seals the deal. HOWEVER, I would only recommend getting Phase Boots if you are getting a lot of kills and you're playing the mid position, because only a mid PA needs to gank with the frequency that Phase Boots encourage. As far as itemization after boots, Battle Fury is OK, but it might be a more solid build to go boots-Basher-Helm of the Dominator-BKB. This allows you to solo kill and teamfight very effectively, as Basher and Helm give enough damage for your crits to still be effective and BKB stops any stuns they can kite you with. However, if you don't have all those items by 30-35 minutes, the game is going to be really hard.

She benefits a lot from levels and can countergank early game really effectively with tp, also decent laning with dagger spam (but however strong meta mids like qop lina lesh will shit on her)

I know PA can be countered with a mkb and other items as you guys were saying, but her ability to fight early makes her a strong choice in my bracket. 1, nobody (including myself, but I'm working on it) can farm an mkb fast enough to shut her down, unless they snowball, and 2, youre not tottally reliant upon supports to pull and zone the offlaner, etc. My win rate with someone like Anti-mage for example is pretty shit because im in games with 5 carry lineups, people dont know how to pull, etc. (i'm also not very good, im not trying to blame my teammates for everything).

What about Diffusal Blade? Is it possible to purge of the Silver Edge/Solar Crest with this item?

Both those can be purged. You could go manta style instead though unless you need it offensively as well.

Silver Edge only lasts for 4(5?) seconds anyway, better wait it out than get a sub-optimal item.

I dont get it. Personally i find her a good offlaner. Going phase ->medallion(or solarcrest depends on game)->Vlads->Deso (if you still have not stomped them then AC or bkb depending on game)

Personally, my favorite player who does PA offlane is X6. He rushes a headdress and maxes out blur. Very effective

That pa spammer that was linked is going mom a lot lately. I thought that wasn't worth on her with how she's a squishy melee, already getting +130 as from phantom strike and doesn't have trouble catching up with people (50% slow dagger and long range hug strike on low cds). Is it just for farming faster without battlefury?

rushing headress? and building into a mek or pipe or something? seems unconventional

You kinda get bf when there are illu based heroes that you want to counter. I also bought bf last game because they shut me down really hard, almost constantly getting ganked by 3 people and there was an am on that game. To match his farm and that i decided to put my faith in to my bs i bought a bf to catch up.

just look at the opposing team. If facing heroes who kite you go phase, if facing heroes you may need to run from, go phase, else go treads. Pretty easy. Sniper has similar issue deciding and I always just decide based on that, if they have a freakin bounty or sven or some shit I'm phase all day cus running = living. If they have ranged heroes I want to sit an manfight like drow or clinkz or storm it's treads ftw. If they have guys who might try to kite me like razor it's phase again, break that link they stomp him.

you buy bf when you have free farm, map control advantage, far better teamfight, and/or enemy cores will not get an mkb until very late/never (spectre, pl, arguably sven)

max blur before phantom strike almost always, especially if you go phase boots for some reason

without treads ur farming speed will kinda suck unfortunately

go dominator if you have map control to stack ancients, or if you want the wolf creeps

vlads helps with 5 man roshing and protects ur teammates from mild -armor (a deso, but not a deso on ta). If i cant stack ancients or am not getting bfury and i have >1 teammate who right clicks i get a vlads

also, I thought you max dagger, blink, evasion? I just look at the difference between 1 point in evasion and 2 points in evasion, and it doesnt look like its worth leveling right away. thoughts?

if you have max dagger you really dont need extra points in blink to chase.

The extra levels of blur turns the evasion from useful to complete bullshit physical damage immunity in the early game when combined with a poor mans shield

the benefit of maxing blink is that you can spam it on jungle camps to farm faster if you tread switch and have mana regen (basi or bf) and also you will get 2-3 more right clicks in when chasing heroes if you get the second blink hits off

i missclicked and got 2 on evasion... i wanted blink both times... i rarely get evasion!
