As far as I recall, even if you win a game on your hero, but in a lower skill bracket, you'd probably go down.
Don't forget that other players also play on that certain hero and some of them got better score than u.
Currently, hero ranking depends on the following factors
1). Division, which is supposed the average difficulty of your games, which pretty much equals "average mmr"
2). Amount of games
3). Winrate
4). KDA (very low correlation here, though)
so even if you imrpove 2, 3, and 4 with your last game, but 1 falls, your overall hero ranking goes down as well.

Hello.Can someone explain how player rankings on heroes work?
For example i was 400th on a hero last day and i suddenly dropped to 900 after winning some games.Surprisingly i always go down in ranks whenever i win a game :)
How this works?
