I went all the way from 5.2 to 4.4 as well then back up. I went from 4.6 party to 3.9 party over the weekend and am now going back up.
Such is Dota2 get over it and keep playing. Everything comes around and the game does settle you at your current skill level.
^ Yea but it becomes frustrating when you lose so many games and you can't do anything about it, no matter how good you play you'll lose.

I lost 700 MMR in just 4 days (but climbing again now cause I think i'm out of the hidden pool, started winning the moment my banned got lifted) hidden pool players are soooo bad, most games are unplayable before you even hit 10 minutes. (Score being 2-13 already) I literally had a Sven who got a 1 hour Treads, Mask of madness, Crystalys, how is that even possible? Even 3Kers should be able to farm more than that in an hour, even the shittest 3Ker, Dota is filled with surprises.
One tip I can give you is DO NOT GET REPORTED FOR COMMUNICATION ABUSE, that is the quickest way to the hidden pool, you will lose more MMR then you can count cause of how bad they are, and how much dunning kruger they have, these people are CONVINCED they're victims in this war for MMR. Lose with grace, and just go on to the next game, even mute all chat, THAT HELPS ALOT, I tell you this cause I care. If you mute all chat, you won't have to worry about cocky enemies showboating to feel relevant cause they're probably shit at real life, helps with rage.
NOTHING is worse than being chat banned, when you're trying to tell these (insert rude word here) what to do to win, cause they're just walking around the map like morons with no sense of direction,and not being able to talk.
I remember yelling at my monitor " THEY WIN LATE GAME, THEY WIN LATE GAME, STOP FARMINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! " But of course, they couldn't hear me.
^ this above is why people tilt so much. When you feel that you're somehow better than the people you landed with (unless lower party queue) then you instantly go into the games you play with a mindset that some how 4 other players are robbing you of your birth right win.
If you're in 3-4K bracket and even to some extent low 5K, you're there because you're just as good/bad as the players you're with. You have zero place to be calling people out and the best way to play the game is to trust that your team knows and performs as well as you and all you can do is hope that things go your way.
The game is pretty easy anyways I don't feel why people struggle and just enjoy an easy win, or a deserved loss.

@havoc how many games did you have to play over the weekend to lose 700 MMR? If you went on a 28 game losing streak that'd just about cover it. is there a bit of hyperbole there maybe? :)

I don't think I have this so called "birth right" to win, but okay. i'm just stating facts, flamming is not the way to go, and being reported for communication abuse, is even worse than being reported for feeding in my opinion for reasons stated above. It's a team game, everyone has the right to say something, I always TAKE into consideration what people say, "let's rosh" and so on, I NEVER EVER totally dismiss ideas that people have, but you don't know me very well. But when the other team has PL, and scary late game heroes, while we have like 3 supports, telling them to fucking push is definitely an option.
Getting muted is the worst thing in ranked. Like one of my Embers game. I got matched on mid vs Lina, she had high ground ward, I struggled & even couldn't tell my teammates to gank/deward. I abandoned after 4th minute, because I felt totally hopeless. It was the last time I played solo queue when muted. I highly recommend not queuing when muted.
I also believe that most "hidden pool" games are lost, because people just go full tilt & play worse (they focus too much on teammates, flame them etc.). I only flame when I know there is literally 0 chance to win a game, before that flaming is the worst thing u can do in ranked if u want to climb.
Played 8 games in arow and won all 8, team was very nice to eachother in every single game.
Hidden pool definitely exist IMO.

You went 2-2, I don't understand how that could be possibly griefing, enjoy the 5 high quality priority games though (I'm in lp aswell) play them with friends it makes it more fun.

Pretty sure hidden pool is real because all my games were gr8 then suddenly i got the shittiest of shit games wiith flamers and fulltilt mode people. Look at my dotabuff and behold my 15 game rank solo hidden pool losing streak.

1. I was trolling not even playing serious.
2. Pa was a retard (high skill bracket)
All those games after that I've performed really well and so did my team, maybe I am actually in a hidden pool?
