Introducing the Open Scrim Network, a place for all amateur teams to find scrims. in General Discussion
Chïıya-

An open scrim network for everyone.
    Personalized for you.

    http://tourr.io/openscrimnetwork/

The Open Scrim Network is a Slack group, with separate channels (both EU and NA regions) for all MMR groups. Slack is a great platform for communication: easy to use and available on web, mobile & desktop. You can easily customize the channels you wish to join, and even exchange private messages between any participants, eliminating the need to go through platforms such as Steam.

Whether you're a 2000 MMR team trying to find suitable partners to improve your matchmaking experience or a 5500 MMR team looking for serious practice - we got you covered! After signing up and setting up your account, you can customize which channels should appear for you, in order to focus only on the channels that are relevant to you. These settings synchronize among all devices.

There are channels for all MMR groups, in 500 increments. No more worrying about finding the right skype scrimgroups, or manually looking for partners. The OSN scales with you: as you improve, you can switch to higher MMR channels without wasting time.

    Create your own groups

I know there are already several established Skype scrimgroups out there, and they all serve their purpose more or less well. But Skype is not a platform that scales all that great for larger communities. Slack on the other hand, does. Separate channels for different topics, private messages between all participants. And all of it fully customizable. You're a european 4k team and not interested in any channels but the eu_4000-4500 one? You can easily leave all the other channels and only get notifications from the ones you care about. Maybe you improve and are ready to scrim against some better team? Don't worry, you can come back any time and join the eu_4500-5000 channel.

Apart from catering to the lower MMR teams which don't really seem to be represented in any Skype scrimgroups, we of course also wanted to maintain the benefits higher MMR teams had before. All 5000+ MMR channels are private and by invitation only. This means that either you have to get vouched by a team that is already a member of these channels, or provide proof that your average MMR is high enough to be invited. Contact allaire after signing up to get vouched for these private channels (5000-5500, 5500+ - both regions).

Found a handful of teams you really enjoy scrimming against? Create your own private groups with a few clicks, while still enjoying all the other benefits Slack provides.

A personal comment: So, I basically just launched this and as of creation of this post, only a handful of teams have signed up. I truly believe this could be something great for the scene, and every team I've talked to so far seems to agree. Here's where you come in: spread the word, get more teams to sign up and take part. We need to get this off to a good start for it to work.

u messed up with the link in the betinning of the first paragraph

      Chïıya-

How do I do links here then?

        TripleSteal-

i think it was not even your mistake, just the bbcode problems. i checked and apparently u got everything right, but it just doesnt work, as well as in other threads. would be easier to use it if you just give a link in parenthesis then, I guess.

          TripleSteal-
