Ur games are still in normal bracket, that's still under 3.2k mmr.

                TripleSteal-

if u had 48% in 2k, why would u deserve a higher rating?

                  Crimson Sky

I'm probably gonna get flamed for this but here goes nothing: In reply to TripleSteal: I agree to a point with the general consensus that there is no MMR "trench" as such. If you're better you will surely progress this is true to an extent. Now, in the case of someone who maintains playing at "Very High Skill" level, let's say 5k+ this would be true and you would stomp your way to where you belong, as Juice showed in his experiment.

However, for someone who is maybe a 3k or 3.5k player, someone at the top end of the "Normal Skill" bracket edging in to the "High Skill" it isn't always the case that you have the skill of the 5k player and are thus able to quickly climb rank winning 100% of games regardless. While the 5k player can guarantee a stomp in spite of his team mates, with someone at 3k that isn't necessarily the case.

You have to imagine it like a pyramid: At 7-8k there are a handful of players who probably all know each other and what to expect. At 2.5k (or thereabouts) you have the vast majority of the player base, millions of people. This means that within that pool of people there is a massive range in terms of skill, game knowledge, mechanics, etc.

Sure, at 5k you might feel that you get the same amount of people who rage out and throw games and whatnot. But in terms of them actually having made it that far in rank, you can presume that they possess a minimum amount of mechanics and game knowledge.

No one wants to admit to being average, or even worse than average at the game. Dota can be extremely frustrating and it's easy to blame everything but yourself for why you are not higher in MMR. This is true. Having said that, I don't believe it is unfair to say that the lower rank you are, the more chance you have of being hit by bad luck in games, simply because the player pool is so vast.

Eventually, people who stick at it will climb if they deserve to, but I can understand wanting to take a shortcut by making another account to cut out the hundreds of often frustrating games you might need to play.

Do drugs and call it a week.

Also, lose your job and house and you will get to 5k mmr

Mute you dont know what you are saying. If you are REALLY higher than your TRUE mmr, you will climb.

                        Simple. As. That.

                        midQ

very high skill starts somewhere around 3700+ mmr....top of normal skill will be around 3200 I believe...but the frustrating part is, that even in 4k it´s the same "quality" as top normal skill(meaning around 3k+) and that´s poor...better players are mostly around 4,5k and above...as I experienced.

well, personally i started at 3k or lower, and i ended up in 4. if that's not showing that you can improve, i don't know what is!
but there's only one way to find you have improved.

well I was on my way to 3k when my recent matches happened

if you are better than your current mmr players you will rise it is just that simple. Even if you are 1% better than your current MMR you will rise (very slowly). Higher MMR players rise faster because they have such a massive game impact that instead of it being a 50 50 game it is 90 10. If you are say a 3k mmr player playing at 2.5k you might only increase the odds of winning up by like 5%

What the guy said above is exactly what I meant.
