Ive always wondered what the learning curve is like when using keys to control the camera? I suppose you cant edge-pan and control the mouse at the same time so there are some advantages.
Did you start playing the game this way, or have you since adapted?
I use WASD for camera, as well as some other strange hotkeys.
I used the standard hotkeys for a month or so. Then I started to play Puck and changed my hotkeys to suit him and make things a little easier.
Would you say WASD is good for particular heroes (pudge/mirana)? I imagine it would be really hard to alternate back and forth. Im not sure if I could dedicate that much space on my keyboard just to moving the screen.
That nice, i dont know u can buy tp by using some key. But the item dont match me i think, that back to how people think they are comfortable.
Great job thanks for the tips.
Thanks rankiro, untill recently I didnt know about the buy-stick key. I think you can replace it with any item (e.g a ward), makes it pretty handy.
Purchase quick-buy and Purchase sticky
These are 2 very cool features that I only started using recently.
LUL
I prefer to have two of my items on mouse 4 and 5. It makes sure I can always use my blink/force staff when I need it.
Also I recently switched to using quick cast for most abilities. It takes some getting used to but its worth the change.
lotta ppl have things on keys like A H S or some similar when i have there attack move, hold, stop etc
do they not use these things at all or huh
I agree maverick, having a gaming mouse with additional buttons is a must. my brother has gone as far as using a razer naga (that MMO mouse with a crap-ton of buttons), he has every single item bound to his mouse.
Whatever floats your boat, he swears by it.
holy shit finally found some people who use wasd for camera! i always get "haha scrub there goes 4 keys for you" "wtf how do you even use your skills" "fck ur config that's trash" when my friends discover my hotkeys lel
I think its quite common for people to use the F key for the ultimate. It actually makes a lot of sense. I find it so difficult to adapt to different button layouts though :(
Haha I use the "F" hotkey for skills that have projectiles, picked this shit up when I played dragon nest for a year.
i use side buttons for skill 4 and 5 , very good for heroes like invoker, your left hand will no longer be distracted when you cast skills

Recently I have been reading up on small tweaks you can make to your game setting to give you an edge. I think a common mistake players make is having crap hot-keys, and using them incorrectly. So many people (myself included) have no idea how to fully take advantage of the hot-keys, and the potential uses they have.
After doing some research, I have compiled a brief tutorial that should help iron out some major errors in some of your keyboard set-ups.

I haven't written many guides, so please give me some feedback.
Also, if there is anything major I left out, please leave a comment and I can add it to my review.
I hope the beginners out there can learn something from this.
