I don't think it is the same in 3k. I like it much better than 2k. I spent a lot of time in 2k and then grinded up to mid-high 3k. I think you will like that more people have mics. That is what makes upper 3k better in my opinion. A tip that I would throw in there for you is that getting out of 2k is as simple as out-farming the other 2ks. People do not know how to farm efficiently at that MMR. Good luck to you!

<= 3700 - High Skill
>= 3700 - Very High Skill
There are no real divisions like in LoL (aside from NS, HS and VHS), so it's mostly just observed as a number that describes one's skill at winning the game in a particular bracket.

and about 50 game analysis should give you +1k mmr in skill

I agree with cookie! Watching great players play some of your favorite heroes is a great way to pick up new skills and habits. For instance, while I was first starting to climb MMR. I noticed the things that pros would do with two of my favorite heroes. On puck, S4 and Abed would switch to agility on their treads while using bottle, so that both mana and health are further increased during use. The second thing was using coil to ensure that the illusory orb hits (the mini-stun is usually enough to land it). On AM, I saw VHS players switching treads to INT before blinking so that the spell expends less % of your mana pool. All these things are habit now, but I never would have known them without watching.
