by thinking about it instead of brainlessly right clicking as a 50 damage support hero

That's why I'm asking this question man

P.S. Are you talking about the rubick game? On that game I did some good steals and plays, but kinda throwed at the end...

no i didnt look at any of ur games

usually as a squishy like dazzle, lion, etc you just hide in fog or far away and when the fight starts you walk up, cast ur shit, run away and wait for CDs. ditto with a push, usually you hide in trees/up a ramp or some shit with a sentry if needed and wait for the fight to start

thats why blink is so good in fights, it guarantees you can play very scared at the start of a fight and still get good spells off, because it effectively extends the range of a lot of spells to 1700 or some shit

just any time you die think about why you died. sometimes its very difficult to avoid but sometimes people die because they stand there right clicking the guy they hexed instead gtfoing

                    ^^^thx for the great advice

@inx not just for supports, cores can also benefit from this as well

it's kinda hard to explain, but there are objective ways to think about positioning per role.

you can easily learn them from some analysis of roles from higher mmr games on who goes in first and how they use spells.

@cookie can you name some pro players that's really great at positioning at their respective positions?

                        🍩🍪Cookie🍪🍩

                          almost every pro player.

you don't get to go pro without knowing something as basic as positioning

realistically anyone above 6k+ has it mastered

                          dead

                            Hmmmmm, really makes you think

i'm yet to see a thread where he didn't post this

                                Jacked

Solid thread. Realistically it's not easy to give advice on positioning. It's dynamic. Depends on the second by second how the fights unravel.

                                    long range? stay behind
short range? get mobility like blink to suprise them from fog after initiation or get tanky while not running straight into them
