depend on your team lineup and choice of support.
if opponent is a lineup filled with invis heroes, i will usually pick a support that either farm nc easily (cm or wd) just to earn extra gold for sentry wards.

else you can pretty much pick any hero and you can be a support just by buying the wards and roaming around ganking up people.
sacrificing yourself and die on behalf of your core heroes is also your job. my choice is usually (riki, veno, sb, sk, strong to start the fight, and save your carry whenever needed)

the point here is, make your death worth something.
if you are gonna die, at least deal sufficient damage to make your death worth it.

well, below 3k its impossible, between 3-5k everyone thinks they are best core player in the world(people who stuck there with 5-6k hours 10k matches total and 40% winrate) and there 2/3 games you will have 5 core heroes and you probably can be a support here but not all games (2many ruiners,crybabies)

it can be triggering to support shitty teams, but you can make it to 4k, 5k probably playing just support.

After that i think it depends on the server you play. It would be real hard for someone on AUS to get 6k playing only supp since hes going to end up in mid 4k games a lot and matchmaking expects him to carry 4 people who are all 1k under him which is REALLY hard if you're a support only player.

bro i am a normal skill player and when i play ranked around 80% of my loses that the enemy have better support player than ours so trust your skill because supporting makes wonders in our bracket
