The biggest differences between low 4k and mid 4k in my opinion are decision making and attitude.

Many of the low 4k players are super tilted because they're scared of going back down to 3k. So any minor mistake will set them off.

Also, knowing when to push, farm, split push, or fight is something people struggle with as well.

nah man we are all scrubs, just don't tilt, play what the team needs and try coordinate. What helped me raise MMR this patch was picking tempo controlling heroes and joining my team the moment I came online. Say for Necro I always go mid and rush Greaves, fairly often I'd have it minute 13-15 then you just deathball with your team. Same with veil ember, or whoever the fuck you chose to play :D Good luck

low 4k's drop back to 3k ALOT , if they dont play their best heroes.high 4k are better at decision making and can maintain their rank even if they cant reach 5k(like me lol).

dont steal highest mmr pos . if u have a 4.7 player in your team let him ply core.

dont fight with ppl at draft stage (mid or feed and words like this)

and dont pick whatever hero team need .its the biggest mistake u can do always pick the hero that u can ply better

if u can ply slardar offlane and ur team need nyx just pick ur slardar or u can pick nyx and feed enemy team and have 0 impact .

this things was my exprience of playing in 4.5+ avg mmr hope its helping u and if u do it all and couldnt rise ur mmr its bcz of your skill i once hit 4.750 mmr and fall to 4.5k thats mean iam not 5k player i should try more.

I agree that learning to draft to suit your team is good way to reach 5K.

It is the difference between being autistic and not. Letting a 4k play safe lane core in a 4.5k+ game is asking to lose. Practically 0 map awareness. 0 ability to think. The picking should always be (from highest to lowest mmr): middle, safe lane core, position 5, position 4, and off laner.

in 4k dota there are few secret methods to improve:
- when you lose always find someone to blame, if you are carry, most likely worst score will be on support, so easiest target, even if he has good score and you die, you can blink map and say buy wards idiot
- if you win, write ez all the time
- if someone is speaking chinese write him cyka to fight back

Btw Don't follow my path,I am just trolling around.
I don't think 5K is hard to reach for any average or even slightly under average intellegence human.
You just have to learn and follow the simple rules like not only play jungle and you can easy 5K
