General DiscussionIq of 7k+ and pro players?

I feel intelligence does not directly correlate to being high MMR. I think it has a large part to do with it but it is not the only factor. I know some younger players who have some weak game knowledge but are good at carrying. And on the flip side some people I know that seem to know a ton about the game are only 2k or 3k. Also there are a lot of good players who only play unranked. If those people played ranked I think we would all get better team mates.

I personally think age and reflexes have more to do with it. I think the higher IQ players you see on your support mains who might not necessarily have high MMR.

They probably watch rick and morty.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Dota 2 Lore. The plot development is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of 13th century literature most of the themes will go over a typical player's head. There’s also Oracle's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these stories, to realise that they’re not just epic- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Dota 2 Lore truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Axe's existential catchphrase “Axe brings the axe,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Mr. Lizard's genius wit unfolds itself on their computer screens. What fools.. how I pity them.

They are easily bored. Maybe they play dota with only 100 match and he understand more than 1000 match player with low IQ
But the problem is they usually easily bored so i don't think they have dedication to reach high mmr on dota

High IQ people will find playing some 3d 5v5 chess useless and never touch the game in the first place

generally it's safe to assume they wouldn't be stupid. just like chess grandmasters require some level of intelligence. although their skillset is really limited to that one activity.
