in my opinion ogre win rate dropped just because people in lower MMR brackets stopped playing him as a support and start building items. So you will see people not buying a single ward just because they want to complete a fast Midas into a Dagon(5) into a hex and .... . and since this process will never finish you will end up having a support hero in your team that doesn't buy any ward/sentry in the game just because he wants to use a dragon on 2 people at once!
On the other hands, on higher MMR which people still play him as a support since they can't build heavy items they can't benefit from this buff that much but they will lose some of their advantages due to the removal of ogres ults buff to his basic spells.
so overall this a lose-lose scenario either ways.
I dont know about you but i started losing with Ogre way before 7.20. IMO Warlock Lich Phoenix AA was the go to supports and i think they still are.
I think my main problem with Ogre is that he is a single target hero that is based on luck and if my team struggles i dont have that high impact AOE spell to turn a fight around. No one is afraid to dive into a ogre linup while a bad initiation into warlock/phoenix can end up in a teamwipe.

If they just go for the classic ogre he is so much better Maybe u just hex 4 people Or halberd 4 but people play ogre very bad and poorly so its what happens the win rate goes down
Classic ogre was nerfed hard and the new ogre is nothing but a meme so not very good. I don't think support ogre is doable anymore with the changes to the ult since now you have actual cooldowns which hurts hard.

Pressence, zoning, tanking, trading hits, pull, blocking, rotating, runes.
(Pressence aka they dont dare to hit you / they dont dare to dive you/ they dont dare to deny/farm because you are present aka not afk behind carry+wave .)
However none of those are necessary in Ranked All-Tard.
In serious games aka -cm thwir however extrmly importent.
Your job as a support is to ward properly, stack and/or pull camps, enable your cores. New Ogre makes people think they need carry build Midas and Dagon and shit while not providing proper support for their carry. That's why Ogre has a shit win rate now.

If your going to do that bullshit go Mid. its fucknig hilarious mid. 7 Min midas. 500 GPM Multixasting Dagons and Hex is actually useful for the team as a Core who can get it by 30 min. My friend Ancient(4) played Ogre mid 2-3 times reliably beat out some of the mid tier mids (invoker-Puck-Ember) and got a really early midas. he farmed like a Lina or a tinker would. Midas whole 3/4 of creeps waves and don't get me started on the team fights,.

If you are losing and dont have gold, it is stupid to buy midas 25 minutes into the game as first item. It is item to ensure you can translate your early game dominance in lane into late game dominance. If your early game sucked and you had to buy a lot of wards, had to babysit your carry and just stay in lane protecting carry, it doesnt make sense to buy midas (unless you know the game will go ultra late).
If you have really good early game, buy 15 minutes midas and you have every 6 minutes around 1500-2000 gold or you have bad game and end up as ogre with buff, single person stun, slow and 1-2 small items by the end of the game (urn, drums, glimmer, force, aether etc).
The issue is dagon/ethereal blade build – people shouldn’t be going some meme, but disable items (scythe, halberd or even nullifier, abbysal, bloodthorn) or team oriented items (shiva, AC, solar crest, crimson, pipe, vessel). Ogre with attack speed and tankiness can be decent frontiner, who cant be ignored as he can have now shitload of damage from mentioned items.
The other thing are levels – Ogre just can grow insanely in levels with midas now – before you didn’t see Ogre lvl 20+ until late game (40 mins, unless he was some monster). Now you can meet Ogre lvl 25 in the same time, even lvl 18 is achieved 5-10 minutes faster.

His winrate right now is 47% and he is the second most-picked hero out there. Before 7.20, Ogre has been one of the most stable pub winning support in the game. Did the change to his ult destroy this hero? Why is everybody playing him to lose game and MMR and infuriate 9 other people with poor plays?
