do whatever you find fun, since you'll play a lot more games if you're having fun and in turn increase your mmr
If you are im doubt about counters then just use this tool —> http://dotapicker.com/counterpick
Usually counter picking is relatively simple but if you are really at a loss as to what to pick then you can just use that.
Please do not see dotapicker as a "god" for picking purposes (or do not use it at all). It can suggest a good hero per se (e.g., Pangolier, Weaver offlaners), but sometimes your team needs an utility offlaner (meks, arcane, vlads, etc).
Well obviously you have to factor in what your teams needs are but it usually points you in the right direction if you have serious doubts. After a while you should get a natural idea of what heros counter eachother anyway
Have you seen admiralbulldog? He literally have 2 hero pool and in immortal rank.. So yea hero pool and u must be very best at it
obviously both!
choose few heroes that counters common picks and also have good winrates !
if u think just mastering heroes make u win, im sry :) its not!
i cant win 1k games with ember, i have kda like 30-2 and still i have no tower dmg so i cant end game but with sf im dog shit even bad kda but i can win the game because i have building dmg!
if bulldog has 2 hero pool but he can win its because his teammates are picking right heroes and they are immortal aswell not only because he is god with that heroes :)
It's useless to counter pick if you're not familiar with the matchup.
Select a few heroes you really like to play that aren't awful currently and train those hard until you know how to play the hero and each matchup well.
After that use which hero seems most appropriate for the game/lane.
That being said, you will need a hero pool (range 5 to 10 heroes to master) that counters 3 of the most popular heroes, and 2-7 rest goes to OP heroes (Arc Warden, Ember, Brood, Meepo and the other heroes mostly used to boost an account).
Not works above Ancient or if you are pos 4-5 hero.
Arc Warden is trash.
Haki - Meepo is the best boost hero in Dota. More than playable. You can even first pick him & still it’s not that hard to win if u know the hero.
First picking meepo is a mistake actually because you will encourage the other team to pick a shaker or a wyvern. Saying that meepo has no counters is ignorant.
Meepo has no counters in low brackets. Esp. in 1k and 2k. Even at 3k or 4k if a Meepo player is 6k+ and has Meepo skills he will indeed be impossible to stop.
There's a reason why boosters pick him often. Obviously he has counters just like any other hero does, but with him, it's easier to escape low brackets.
i realized many people already do the "im gonna pick this no matter what" so learning to counterpick, or at least picking a hero that goes well with your team, is a very good habit to have. i suffer from such teammates a lot
Try picking something that can synergize with your teammates pick! Dota is about team play after all
