if u dont play ranked roles but ranked classic play the position your team needs also don't flame them.
" for someone who doesn't want to play any standard or easy heroes? "
lol what do you mean with easy heroes ? You cant reach 2k but you want to play meepo kekw
meepo pretty easy. Go online download press f to poof. Send meepo randomly to jungle camp as long as they are hitting you are healing cuz of passive. Get wrath bands get eb get dagger. Dagger in press ur f kill people. I am sure he will go from 1k to 3k in like 50 games.
i think every body have ideas about some of areas they suck. improve them.
learn from your mistakes.
watch high mmr games to learn more.
if you wanna learn a new hero, pick a meta hero for your bracket.
generally the role you play has not that much impact on your winrate.
this is how i reach 5.2k from 2.1k on this account.
@OP
Don’t feel too bad. I am 1k MMR after 6k hours on this game. You are doing fine.
Only suggestion I would make is spam complexity 1 star heroes for another 1K hours. Give yourself more time to understanding the fundamentals of general DOTA mechanics before specific hero knowledge.
Regards
Gecko
watch streams, understand why you are doing things and get better at mechanics
be afk less and do stuff
you can play meta to climb but try to understand as well why a hero is strong just forcing yourself to think about that already helps
things like communication and muting ur team and whatnot are personal things some do better with some without do what works for u
Get 10k behavior score and get carried the rest doesn't matter, you only have to have a decent pc that doesn't fail you and suck peoples dick by being a walking ward
Skills don't count jack shit
some ppl rly need to shut their goddamn mouth up instead of giving false info while self pitying their own ass
" for someone who doesn't want to play any standard or easy heroes? "
By this I mean that I find popular complex one heroes such as LC and Sniper boring simply because of their play style. They are too simple and they have no real combos. Maybe I can't reach 2k but I can play Kaolin decently and I have no problem playing morphling, pl or elder titan. They are not the hardest heroes but surely not the easiest ones and that's exactly what I mean. I need a hero that gives me satisfaction when I play well and has a high skill sealing so that I won't get bored of it's game mechanics in under 50 games.
If you have the money, just leave to the boosters. Less stress, just let the money do the rankings. ahahaha
@OP: All the advice Marshall said are the key.
On the "complex picks" thing, keep it up having fun & learning with 1 - 2 picks with high skill cap and try to be good on them, not decent only.
You can really surprise and outplay ennemies by being very good at 1 - 2 high skill cap heroes.
plug in your mouse and keyboard for once and you should be able to win in this bracket
generally the only times i lose on this acc is when i dont want to win, my premade teammates dont want to win, im stoned out of my ass or im playing against another smurf as this account has 1300 behavior score.
generally what im noticing by the players in this bracket is that they play only on their side of the map, this can easially be abused by a hero like Anti Mage as you just farm their jungle and push their lanes forcing them to react to you OR farm your own jungle as Luna/AM forcing YOUR team to go to enemy jungle or lanes if they want to farm forcing enemies to react to them while you take their towers and barracks. might be hard to do without practice but im sure you can get the hang of it.
Get 10k behavior score and get carried the rest doesn't matter, you only have to have a decent pc that doesn't fail you and suck peoples dick by being a walking ward
Skills don't count jack shit
ok legend 2 after 8k games
^yes I do you ape and that's the reason, so what
^^the vast majority of the games are either normal or single draft cuz amazing pc

- 330 cs in 53 min game is very bad for a carry player. Slardar who is not a flash farmer had same farm as you.
https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/5275145316
- I would never pick slark here in the first place. Besides again - 150 cs in 33 min game. Your item build also very questionable. You dont have a stick vs 2 heros that spam spells on your lane. This game was a game where you needed to make a very early bkb. Build for this specific game should be very untraditional = everything you need here and now like bkb, manta, mkb, abysal. Diffusal is good vs heros with no escapes. They all had some kind of escapes.
https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/5275099344
- again 340 cs, 51 min game altough you made BF ?? You cant decide whether to go for a fighting build or farming build. So you go for farming and decide to fight. First of all. Troll is a tempo hero. You make on him whatever needed to fight as early as possible and items that can help you do rosh. Look at their picks. They have DK, Treant that negates pshysical dmg and Slark who is very strong late game. If you want to farm you make maelstrom on him! Maelstrom gives huge dps with your attack speed. If you want to fight early, you make phase, drums, diffu. The same you can make on Jugg, Slark, Ursa if u want to pressure them early. If you decide to farm Satanic is one of the most impactful late game items on Troll, yet you dont make it. Instead you decide to go for Deadalus. You have Zeus, you dont need dmg ! You need to survive.
https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/5275048411
Disaster game. 197 cs in 41 min game. You probably start running around the map like a retard when you should be farming. BKB is not worth in this game, at least not in the first place. Silver Edge was a must, but you desperately needed Satanic vs Axe and a linken sphere. Especially vs Pudge, Axe's dunk and Halberd. They had mostly single targetable spells.
But honestly ? When did you pick troll in this game ? If as last one then you are retarded. Its a perfect Slark or Monkey King game. I would never consider picking Troll here.
https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/5274164142
Finally a decent amount of farm, altough MILES away from being ok for a "Core" player. Your item build is "I have no idea what to build" and late game extension of that is "Hit and pray". No good active items like Abysal or Satanic. Besides BKB and Ultimate you have no more plays to make. Troll naturally counters Lifestealer, thats the main reason you win. If he picked something else, you would have huge problems winning that game. You win this game thanks to Kunkka who was not only dealing highest dmg but also probably catching Tinker off guard.
https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/5274089543
262 cs in 47 min game as "Core" player. You lose a game vs Anti Mage and Bloodseeker with 10 min Midas. They literally had 3 heros at minute 10-15 to fight with. I dont know hoestly how you could lose this game. Snapfire was also farming. He had no items till 16 min mark. If you got Drums, diffu you would be able to just smoke, kill and take objective.
I dont know what you are doing in your games. You dont farm, you dont deal much dmg so what are you doing ? Running in circles ? Perfet hero for you would be - Clinkz. It perfectly suits your playstyle.
But my overall recommendation for you is to learn basics first. Learn item builds, farming patterns, carry goals, what you shuould be doing generally on your position. Maybe just play offlane if you like to fight a lot ? Get a tanky hero that is not punished that hard for bad positioning and who can have good impact on a game like Axe, Tidehunter. Mid is certainly not for you. Or if you like to run around providing vision - play position 4 and get Bounty Hunter or Nyx.
i had 10 fps in a month (dont know why) and played on smurf couple games, still won games :) you dont need 10k pc to beat normal skill buddy. my avg fps is not even 60!
my headset left ear not working anymore. i have all the settings on low and playing on non-gaming laptop worth < 1k $.
my behavior score on avg is 5.5k too :) i play with 110-120 ping on EU, playing with 140-150 on SEA and still winning games.
Keep denying the truth idiot!
You should be playing easy heros first to learn basics. If you want to just have fun then play normals and pick your Morphling or whatever.
Titan is very good position 4. If you like this hero - go for him. He doesnt need items to have an impact, but people on your bracket will always wake your enemies up before your ult hits them.
@Kowadog the ping is not the problem (but it was too), the crashes in the picking phase and the screen freezing are. I used to abandon 1 in 5 games on avg, on another account I had to play for fun I have 9 abandons in a row. Had 1 bhs for the longest time and now it's 1.5k with fuck faces intentionally ruining every game. But keep denying the truth idiots
Thx a lot for the feed back Lex. I was mindlessly spamming troll cause I enjoyed laning with him. From what I've understood by watching replays etc my lane is super good but after 13-15 minutes I forget to farm on troll and try to fight too much.
Could you look at some of my games with pl or lone druid? Especially with pl I feel like my farming is on point but would love to hear your opinion. Also I've played bs and pugna mid a while ago, I feel like those games went quite well and I could learn back to playing mid but dont know then.
hold up, are you the guy who had autism? i guess nothing i can do against that buddy. like if your games as bad as you saying and your pc as fucked up as u saying, why u even playing then?
Cause it's the only game I've really loved for the past 5-6 years after having to give up on Playstation and all the rest but damn isn't that love not reciprocated
@OTurbaaniLegenda
That's because Troll's base dmg was buffed and its easy to lane with him. Forget Lone Druid. At least now. PL is good as long as they dont have much crowd control like: Shaker, Puck, Gyrocopter etc. Build on him is straight forward. WB + Wand, then Treads into Diffu and manta. After that HOT if you have troubles staying alive or Basher if you need extra disable. Then whatever you need. You should try to end the game as soon as you get your manta. Doppleganger is one of the most difficult spells to use. 95% use this spell to confuse enemies and more dmg, but you should use it for dispell and dodging incoming spells.
But I will say one more time. Your problem is not the pick. I can pick Morphling on your bracket, which I dont play at all. I dont really now how to play this hero properly. But Im sure I would keep 80+ win rate on your bracket. You lack knowledge about what and when you should be doing. If you have ez time laning, your mid-late game decisions suck. You probably spend too much time running in circles.
95% use this spell to confuse enemies and more dmg
Correction : 95% people are apes that use it everytime it's off cd without any reason.
but you should use it for dispell and dodging incoming spells.
Dodge, dispell or bait incoming targeted hard controls with the tanky illusion, yes.
Man, recently re-watched randomly burn1ng escaping a 4 men gank just by microing and baiting with the tanky illusion.
@Lex could be. My mid to late game gets fucked if someone else is farming a lot. I find myself trying to look for gank for 2-3 minutes straight just because everyone else in my team is farming all of the lanes and camps. But this helps a lot, I've known that my item builds suck on most heroes because Im bad at telling which items I need but it's good to know my mid to late game sucks just overall. Thx for the help buddy.
Feedback is still welcome tho!

You are pos1, you are in the right to claim these safe farms.
Except if your supp is finishing his mana boots/glimmer/force staff in 250g, you are completely legit to claim these farms.
If you end up overextending and putting yourself at risk because all your team took the "safe farm" (under vision, not out of position, ...), you might get picked off.
See it this way : If the pos1 or the pos5 were to get pickedoff, which one is worse ?
If pos1 manages to finish his BKB and secures buyback or pos5 finishes force staff and secures buyback, which one is more impactful ?
^ Well yes and no.
If you are playing: Anti Mage for example and they dont have much tools to kill you, you are obliged to farm contested camps. Or you play Juggernaut and they have no Bkb piercing spells or items - same thing. Like with everything else in dota it depends.
If you can do it witout much risk - farm contested camps. They change depending on vision provided.
But another problem is that people often dont understand farming priorities and take pos 1 farm which is true. Feel free to ask them politely using your microphone if he can "stop F****ING farming". :D
Maybe you can start by reducing the number of heroes you play. You have a lot of heroes under 50% winrate. Try to avoid them as you simply are not knowledgeable enough of those heroes and pick the ones you are good at. And look at the team composition, generally people at your bracket would always want to play core for the lulz. I suggest you learn some few supports to give your team a chance of winning rather than challenging the opponent's braindead drafts by being braindead yourself.
Spam meta heroes try to counter enemy heroes and buy only item can be useful to the team example enemy is more have magical damage buy early pipe bkb .
Play hero that's easy for you and has the highest impact in team fight and a good win rate. You don't have to be a versatile player in rank bracket unless you are divine or immortal
You dont need to be versatile in ranked allpick even if you are divine or immortal.
Example: Bulldog

So I've been playing dota for about 2.1k hours now and I haven't played a single hero more than 70 games. I read somewhere that your understanding of the game won't improve if you don't focus on a few heroes.
I've deranked for about 500 mmr (from 2.1k to 1.6k) in a month and I'm starting to get frustrated. I'm a core player and judging by what my higher rank friends are saying I am not playing that bad. So what should I do? Should I just stop playing carry and play mid with 2-3 heroes and if so what are your hero suggestion for someone who doesn't want to play any standard or easy heroes?
