forget everything you know about sniper. Just pretend it is a new hero. His skills are as follow. An aoe damage over time and slows with 3 charges. Hmm that does that remind you of maybe a Cm frost nova but better? Then he then has headshot a mini disable that also helps in lane denies. Hmm already I would rather have sniper with me offlane than say a silencer who is doing nothing or a pudge. Now lets see an ult at around 20 mins would be a long range stun. Seems pretty good to me.
Id rather have an cm with a frostbyte too and aoe mana for team though, i personally would rather have a pos 4 sniper than pos 3. But there are so much better supports, not saying that an early sniper pick baiting enemies to pick their mid hero earlier so u can counter it harder is useless though
Pos 4 sniper is a hilarious and potent combo with Pos 3 Pudge. Just assassinate=> hook=> dismember. But then again, I haven't seen it be effective with anything else though, and Pudge laning is much worse now. Perhaps there's a more viable combo there worth theorycrafting.
After patch 7.20, Sniper has been recieving buffs 7 times in a row. The new agh gives you team a lot of time to finish off your opponent. It is now viable to get agh as a 2nd or 3rd item instead of last. As long as you know how to evade assassins, the game is ez win. Next patch is super huge nerf!

the aghs is a huge item, this hero is super strong in lane and im getting tilted playing against this broken pos 4. please stop spamming useless heroes like lina and start playing this meta hero before it getting nerfed. specially if you are 5k+.
with follow up for that stun its so fucking strong
like hook of pudge or clock sunstrike any hero with mobility like void jump its so damn insane
Is mirana 4 really bad this patch? I think the one point arrow max starstorm is trash but i tried it one game with maxing arrow instead it seems better
looking at most games miranas max starstorm even as 4.
it's more damage if you get the secondary star and only 15 less if you don't compared to putting points in arrow but more importantly helps you push out creep waves as a 4. you can farm and pressure lanes that would be dangerous for cores and you have 2 escapes.
you already get 3.5s stun at 1 point compared to 5s when maxed out. in most games you won't need the extra stun duration and also if you miss the arrow you aren't losing out on all your damage when you're 7.
maybe if your team lacks catch but has set up for the arrow then I could see max w being more useful situationally.
i only see arrow max now that they buffed the damage, if im being honest i dont think mirana 4 is worth anything if u dont hit arrow so u might as well max it if u have the setup for it like you should. i mean starstorm max is way more consistent and reliable though naturally
Sniper has absolutely received enough incremental buffs to be legit as a 4.
Both Q and W gain at least 100% increased damage from ranks 1 > 2 making them both extremely efficient early damage sources, W's base numbers have gone up, (which effectively functions as an average damage increase of 8/20/32/44,) as has Sniper's base damage and agility gain.

headshot damaged got reduced by 10 at all levels btw, not increased.
though it's only -2.5 dmg on average and also he got +4 base damage buff anyway.

once he was in my team, i felt i have a walking creep running to lane and feeding enemy pos 1, the next game when he was in enemy i felt they are 4. but as u can see he is winning mmr. says a lot abouit top 1% dota players skill

buddy, remember there is another thread about a huskar spammer who cant even position himself against two melee hero as sky and dies to them, having 2 lvl on 7 fucking minutes as a SKY. spamming a one broken braindead hero doesnt mean you are good at dota. if u pick sniper 4 and enemies play like literally retards , it doesnt mean you are good. staying in miles away from fight and casting your ult doesnt mean u are good at any aspect of this game.
the funny thing i just remembered is the fucking guy instead of ulting the goddamn troll (enemy pos 1) and killing him decided to ult a fucking pos 4 or 5 next to him. says a lot about how skilled this guy is and nothing is wrong with that broken aghs
what? spamming a hero is not the problem. spamming a braindead broken hero which requires 0 skill is the problem. with spamming sniper offlane or huskar mid you wont understand any concept of dota. when alch was op and ppl spamming it, you wouldnt gain mmr because u play dota better than others. hitting creeps for 20 min and farming assault radi bkb doesnt mean you are good at dota. everybody can do it.

the whole point is X spammer can be a huskar spammer but a huskar spammer cant even win with another hero. cause he boosted his mmr by strength of the hero not by improving his skills in the game. its so simple man i dont know what are u talking about. nobody talked about chen and u want to brag him in.
if u get your mmr by just spamming huskar, u cant win anymore on that bracket with other heroes. thats why u see a lot of huskar spammer smurfs. they are so shit to win on their mains and boosting their ego with stomping retarded games on lower mmrs.
Sniper has such a low win rate simply because people cannot adapt, stop going for midas and maelstorn(its such an passive build), and start buying madness and desolator.
The hero is pretty decent in many midlane matchups against some of the meta midlaners, like DP, TA, RAZOR, OD, and Lone Druid.
But you do HAVE to draft your team for sniper, like having a bulky offlaner like Mars or Cent and cant have a hc like Weaver.
Sniper should be the only back line dps in your team because hes dead when enemies get close.
He is not op but for sure can be played if you know how to itemize and position yourself
Just don’t pick sniper if you don’t want to get lycan’d at 20 minutes. Or pl or naga. Your hero doesn’t even win mid against most mids. Poop tier hero.
wrong, he is not mid, u are baiting enemy in drafting and boom you play pos 4. 200 IQ bait.
his Q is insanely good against rat lineups. strongly suggested for 5.5k+ players. (not in my team tho)

I've been seeing people play sniper as a pos 3 or 4 lately and just wanted to point that out. A lot of them are buying the new aghs as their first item. Thoughts?
