I personally didn't, if not a couple times a long time ago, but had games with support wr and didn't find it bad. I wouldn't pick her vs heavy magic dmg lineups and Centaur, she can be a good option in other games though.
Windrunner, Pudge, Techies, Riki 4 - Are literally Grief tier.
Windrunner is a Core right now, however the concept still remains the same - Just understand fundamentally, When optimised she is a CORE.

Windrunner isn't esactally 'GOD TIER THIS PATCH' however she is a hero you can pick first, that can go into any role or any position and still do her job, i think it's pretty good.
GH and rodjer play mean pos 4 windrunners... early laning phase is all about your attack animation and powershot harass, midgame its because you can have forward positioning on a disabler/damage dealer. ''
Back in the day when WR 4 was meta - 180 damage powershots and a sick animation was the reason you played the hero.(Oov meta- Right click the carry twice anytime he stepped in range)
good pos 4's could skill Shackle on 4-5-6-7 While getting 2 points powershot and a value point in windrun. however i could very see that build accomplish the same thing a 0-4-4-1 Shadow shaman does.. ''absolutely nothing, can't shove lanes' - All they do is sit behind the carry and counter initiate.
I could very quickly see a 4-2-1 windrunner become - Tranquil boots wand at 18mins.
The fact is;
Nukes that deal flat damage are usually going to outclass a '0 damage' Disable, atleast untill the critical threshold where your teams right clicks can out dps the nukes worth of damage.
Theres a reason why bane - undying etc Rediculous lane dominators while On Paper are broken - are balanced.
Because after the laning phase, they can't farm or shove lanes..
- I can't see an argument for a ''Non-Broken hero'' to limit themselves, making thier job harder.

All seem to be abit better and easier to execute than ''line up teamfight winning shackles'' - ''wait for carry to farm lane'' ''wait for carry to push tower'' ''hope my team trusts and follows up on my shackle''
If my 4 sitting is attempting to stop a push with a 0 damage nuke and just disables, it means a core has to go and shove that lane, which puts your core at risk etc.
Powershot got nerfed, however 150 damage AOE nuke - Global bullshit range that can hit 2 heros - Is still going to be the only thing you're going to add value to the lane.

Imagine you're a beastmaster. playing against some Skywrath, lich, disrupter esc support, and you have a windrunner in your lane.
Anytime you walk up, you get nuked by the support, and have to posture to not lose all your regen.
If you have a windrunner, sure she's rightclicking (rediculously good at it) but its just not enough, If she lands a shackle in the early Laning - there is a good chance that its going to be 'defensive' or you aren't healthy enough to follow up on the shackle.
Stuns are OP lategame - Midgame..
Slows and nukes dominate earlygame..
If you want to get to remain level 8 for the entire game, sure.. get 4-0-4..
TL:DR - Its bad, The build and playstyle hasn't changed for 2 years -
Do yourself a favor, pick a real 4 and stop griefing, if you want to play WR - Play it mid
i find oov trash on ranged heroes, blight stone often gives more the armor reduction is godlike at that low lvl
Yeah when you analyse a shit build for wr ofc you’re gonna analyse that wr 4 is grief tier.
The build and playstyle absolutely has changed in the last 2 years. Javelin is so much worse, get blademail for insanely efficient stats and treads or phase into crystalys. Or you can go aura build with vlads and greaves.
Or you go vessel or euls or atos or any of the items your team needs like pipe.
Remember wr’s versatility is her hallmark. I usually go max
W by 7, but a variety of skill builds work as well. I very rarely max skackle first tho
Yeah after some experiments i think the vanilla build with max powershot is the best one, but as a pos 4/5 wr u dont rly need the ult u can get your shackle boost talent by 10 with maxed shackle and powershot.
Windrun is very good with tranquil boots
Maxing shackle worke out very well with bristle (pos 4? and playing pos 5 for a weaver and a mk mid flaming me all game although i set up kills on ember for him
I really would like a blink dagger on her, but never got to that point, cant float 2250 gold early as a support, stop buy wards until i get that gold like every ogre midas supp and lion shaker blink player does, especially now that there is big shortage of reliable gold
I feel that current meta with nerfed javelins shes a better support rather than core.
She was op hero on low mmr games (below leaderboards) about a year ago and people still play her as a core.

Ok first of all he isnt pro and honestly I make fun of him most of the time. But this time I actually completely agree with him. This video is literally everything I been thinking for the last 7 years. Do not pick wr support stop grieving games.
its humour and arguments hes using can be used on any hero without direct impact skills. pudge, mirana, (both making atos u know its gg), techis, zeus, invoker supports thats the real cancer here.
it is kinda different. Invoker support is meant to abuse the fact cold snap plus vessal is like a 5 sec disable that does like 600 to 1000 damage. Zeus support is meant for a line that that takes advantage of a dewarded map. Meaning you have to play heroes that take advantage of the fact there will little to no wards on the other team. Also I believe he talked about why potm and pudge while still not great support and dont have direct spells differ with wr in that they cast them from afar. If it connets go in if it doesnt reset. Where as wr she cast them from melee range and if it misses she is dead.
the powershot can be long range but sure i understand the arguement of melee ranged shackles. but good wr players on core position often make blink and if u play the hero alot u wont miss shackles.
would be really up to some comments on physical build of wr by wr core spammers. Like deso used to be standard on wr, then meta changed and it was better with javelin. however the physical build was really not bad until they nerfed the damage reduction and put it as a 25 talent. however they changed back making invis lvl 25 and dmg reduction on lvl 20 instead and i feel like it must be very much stronger now that u can go snowball phys build instead. along with tower focus meta u can always find some use of the focus fire 60 cdr at lvl 12, u are a strong contribution to the safe laner earlier because he most likely uses phys dmg too.
Mirana 4 is playable because you can pick heroes to make arrow reliable and also moonlights shadow is a really good ability
lmao wr unplayable with other heroes? a good one cant benefit from a direct impacted stun without overlapping stun? been able to shackle 4 people into grimstroke ult once, its like a fucking ravage

Any wr player here tried shackleshot build on wr? Skipping traditional items such as javelins builds, more like vessel, forcestaff, solar crest? Used to play wr alot before so tried a few games with her. The shackleshot build seems broken to me once u get the hang of the hero.
Able to multi stack camps, really good roaming abilities too.
