I'm not getting a ring of tarrasque and let it sit there in a slot before I maybe get a full tarrasque 30 minutes later, I get items I can build for the mid game and from which the entire team benefits when they get upgraded. I left tarrasque in 2k tbh unless I'm pushing extra early and semi-trolling with Centaur or going nonstop pushing/fighting early with Alchemist's gold advantage in the early game with radiance first. When you constantly force clashes in lane that regen is awesome and wand is good enough only for surviving, once you pop it there's another clash in which you have some mana but you're more squishy and have less hp so back to survival mode again. You go in one more time and they have what, a couple charges this time? It would be like you say if there were sporadic attempts at getting a kill with spamming 2nd in between said attempts. We can talk for days about this but thing is it wins me lanes and it wins me games way more than it loses them.

pos 3 doesnt bristleback hardly ever buy bkb and most certainly not in a game like this, his job in tf is to absorb dmg and hopefully turn his back on the enemies. how isnt shakers magic damage significant to factor in? he most likely blinks in unexpected and then u have an aura with magic resistance and 30% magic resistance on yourself.
a pipe in a gamefield where lots of teamfights with ltos of magic dmg is going on is still very good. it blocks 400? dmg actively while providing magic resistance aswell. just compare to a red booster costing 1,1k gold giving 250 hp. you can block up to 2k dmg with that item.

shaker only deals large damage with echoslam, otherwise he is more about stun. it doesnt matter if youre offlane bristleback, you're still a bristleback and you still want to scale. every reason you stated to buy pipe is just better justification for bkb in a game against huge amounts of chain stun, and dp with a 6 second silence and spirit siphon that deals percentage damage. you dont care as much about the damage block as you do abt not being stunned for an eternity. if bb is shutting down wk, then its all the more reason to go greedier and scale harder, because you have a strong early lead and dont have to sacrifice your scaling potential to buy an item that hinders your scaling. you're only objectively looking at what pipe does and not how this affects the game, or the cost, or other alternative. yes it blocks magic damage, but there are a lot of other things to look at when assessing an item. not to say pipe lost you the game, i dont even think its the worst item you couldve bought, i just dont think its optimal, and it messes with your build and timing. you think roles are too static, bb isnt just a tank hero, if bb doesnt have scaling items he just takes a bit longer to die, he gets ignored in fights, he doesnt like contribute. sure sometimes you have to compromise on your item build, and scale less and buy the pipe and buy other items to scale, but i dont think you should do that this game. blood is not really a reliable carry imo especially not in this game against tanky heroes like dp/wk. so instead whats the issue with you buying abyssal ac bkb halberd and just carrying instead. the pos 3's job isnt to shut down 1, he just lanes vs the 1. the roles purpose is not something that static, it depends on the game. everything halberd offers this game is valuable, even the active on wk or mirana or lina. people dont buy blademail just for the active and people dont buy halberd just for the active, the same reason why blink dagger is less good than it used to be because it only has an active and doesnt give you any stats. if storm and bs are struggling, and bb has a good game, then why on earth would you want to sacrifice your game in order to help your other cores, when you are the strongest scaling core in the game anyway?

If you received more magic than physical, you should be focusing on magic resistance.
Now, assuming you are losing the early game, how do you secure farm? Definitely not through an item like midas, it would only accelerate your loss. You need to push with smoke. Ward the creep waves, so that you can farm there, and get your allies to help you escape from the side lanes. If you lose out on the jungle, then it cant be help, but the creep waves you must at least secure some last hits.
Lifesteal mask is suboptimal in the face of stuns. There is a vambrace and an illusionist cape which bristle could have equipped. Lesh should have taken the telescope.
