Trigun : it's based on a planet completely ruined with huge water, food crisises
A guy named Vash the stampede is terrorizing all the inhabitants because it's told that he's a cruel monster that destroys all on his way.
We're following the story of two ladies from a assurance company that have to find vash and make him stop destroying everything cause the assurance company is losing a lot of money because of him.
In reality vash is a gentle and adorable person that has a terrible past. The main plot is that vash wil try to save the planet from a danger he's alone to be aware of, while fighting against bounty hunters lurking for him and many conflicts in the town he passes in.
It's a great anime with a lot of humor and a great story behind it
Your questiion is pointless.I mean anime differs a lot, like movies. You don't ask people about best movie, do you? You usually ask about some good comedies/horrors/thrillers/action films. It should be the same with the anime. Just go to animeplanet/myanimelist and find something with good rating using filters.
You don't ask people about best movie, do you?
is it an argument for or against?
thast literally one of the most frequent questions when u talk to new ppl
The most populat will always be the ones aimed at boys between the ages of 10 and 16.
Like Death Note or Naruto, and all the ones you probably hear the most people fanboy over.
^death note is a yes
Naruto anime on the other hand, is shit
Go read the manga if you still want to follow naruto
death note is really just an edgy kid's wet dream, written by an author that is way less intelligent than his supposed genius characters (whose genius lies in basically having very plot convenient realizations)
naruto is pretty basic filler-ridden trash
if you want a good long running anime with people hitting each other (shounen) you can watch hunter x hunter
if you want some comedy and action with an interesting premise go watch assassination classroom
if you want a good teen romance anime go watch toradora or tsurezure children
if you want a good feelgood anime that makes you feel nice and cozy watch natsume yuujinchou or mushishi or even the ancient magus' bride (he is the grrrrrrandest magus)
if you want pathetic melodrama and tragedy porn go watch clannad
if you want some dystopian thriller/fantasy/sci-fi/whatever go watch psycho pass or shinsekai yori
if you want high production values and a great story watch most of studio ghibli's stuff, nausicaa and princess mononoke are my favorites
and last but not least if you want to bone your sister you do need help but there is a lot of anime that covers this fetish such as oreimo and eromanga sensei (btw this is a joke please don't watch this trash)
Hunter x hunter was basically the only anime I really enjoyed watching
Naruto got too much fillers, read the manga instead if you're actually interested
You can always try watching something other than neverending series, too. Especially since they are originally made for preteen-younger teen boys.
But really, all the advice in the world can't help a person unless he knows more or less what he's looking for. Also there's that certain cultural shock effect.
Invaders of the rokujyoma- basically rom com but with the heroines being supernatural beings
Musaigen no phantom world- ur typical action fantasy anime
Date a live - chill anime with a bit of sci fi and action
Juuni taisen- really cool anime, its like fate zero but does not have a real mc
To love ru- if you are into ecchi anime
Blood c- if u like gore
Another- if u like horror
Corpse party ova- if u like characters dying brutally
Death Note, Code Geass r1/r2, FMA brotherhood, Steins Gate, Madoka Magica, Ghost in the Shell series, Gintama, Clannad, Your Lie in april, Re: zero, Monogatari series, psycho pass, hyouka.
For movies watch:
Kimi no na wa, Koe no katachi, Akira, Princess Mononoke, spirited away, my neighbour totoro, grave of the fireflies, the girl who leapt through time, nausicca, castle in the sky, howl's moving castle etc.
Gurren Lagann , Steins Gate, Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist are the best ways to start watching anime
Re:zero. It's about a person who gets transported to a fantasy world and whenever he dies he revives at a checkpoint sort of.
or No Game No Life. It's about 2 siblings who get transported to a world where everything is decided by games.
Both are pretty good and kinda funny.
And can someone tell me how to quote other people? thanks. I don't mean to change the topic!
Best anime to watch were "cory in the house" and "lazytown"
"We are number one,hey!!"
Hajime no Ippo, commentator shouting when Ippo's signature move starts to wind up with a freaking jet engine sounds "Dempushi-Roru!" .Though they didn't make a season 4 but still worth to watch
~✿ Potato Marshal's Fabulous Fall 2017 Anime Mid-Season Review (。◕‿‿◕。) ✿~
-Mahou Tsukai no Yome-
Definitely one of the better shows of the season. 15 year old Hitori Chise after living a harsh life, is sold in an auction to a mysterious mage. The mage intends to teach her in the ways of magic, training her to be a mage's apprentice, and to be his bride. Interesting world building and endearing characters, just be careful you don't accidentally mix up the OVAs with the main show, Horriblesubs have the OVAs and the main show under the same name with the only distinction being the space between "Mahou" and "Tsukai".
-Juuni Taisen-
Battle Royale with 12 different characters, each representing a different Chinese Zodiac. Good fight scenes as well as some nice edgy violence and character backstories. A tad bit predictable on who's going to die next, and they could've integrated the character's backstories a bit more into the fighting, but the action and character designs are great. Don't expect to be too surprised by the twists, but a good show overall.
-Inuyashiki-
One of the more talked about shows this season. A very elderly looking salary-man and a high schooler are killed in an alien crash, and are rebuilt using advanced alien weapon technology. I kind of thought that they kind of tried to hard to make one of the characters sympathetic and likeable, and the other the complete opposite. The high school character is just so unlikeable and edgy for me, hopefully it picks up more once the two main characters interact some more.
-Kino no Tabi-
Essentially a remake of the 2003 Shaft adaptation. The protagonist Kino, and her talking motorcycle Hermes travel throughout the world, only staying in each town for 3 days and 2 nights. So far some of the pacing from the 2003 version have been better, and there's a lot of CG in the 2017 version too. Still a very interesting show that you should at least watch one of the 2 versions.
-Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou-
A very light-hearted, somber, show about a very distant post-apocalyptic world destroyed by war, where most of humanity has died out. The story revolves around two girls traveling through the ruins looking for food and shelter in their tank(?). A nice, somber relaxing show where the 2 protagonists find fun in their simple adventurous lifestyle, discovering new ruins and learning about their world. A very nice relaxing show, one of the better shows this season in my opinion.
-Blend S-
5 girls(?) work as servers in a cafe where each of the female servers have a unique quirk (e.g. sadist, tsundere etc.). A nice little comedy slice-of-life about the hijinks of these girls working in a cafe. There's a lot of references to modern games and anime in it, and the characters are very cute, however the trap character still hasn't appeared yet after 5 episodes 😞. But the swimsuit beach episode is next week though 😃.
-Konohana Kitan-
A very cutesy moe show. It's essentially a bunch of fox girls working in an old-fashioned Japanese inn. The yuri overtones are a little more overt I would say than a lot of other similar shows. It really depends if you're into this kind of show about cute girls doing cute things, some people find these character archetypes annoying or overly cutesy, but you should have a very clear idea if you're going to enjoy this kind of show just from a glance.
-Love Live! Sunshine!! 2nd Season-
I didn't like how slow the plot moved in season 1, and how little happened in it (e.g. didn't perform Step! ZERO to ONE and blueballing us despite them establishing the zero votes in episode 8). Hopefully more will happen this season, characters are as quirky and memey as ever, especially compared to µ's. The character dynamics and interactions are still very good, as is the music as usual.
A decent anime season overall, but I don't see anything so far that would overtake Made in Abyss as my anime of the year so far, which is a show I would highly, highly recommend to everybody in this thread. Fantastic show.
Boku no pico - nothing beats this masterpiece, this is considered as the anime of the century.
Plot-10/10
Characters-10/10
Animation-10/10
Overall-10/10
